I still have my First SE Rescue - from MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op) from 1989. - Its the REI of Canada. I also got a letter in 1990 from them telling me that it was a restricted knife due to the fact you could open it with one hand .. LOL.

We have LOTS of Spydies here in Canada. LOTS

The early G10 Harpy that I received has no liners. Its a good ATS-55 model and the early G10 is in great shape!

here it is with the G10 Police and some stainless models I recently picked up:

Doc - Im thinking its an epidemic! I had to provide my GF with her own Enduras as well as a Centofante 3 and Rescue Wave of her own so she would stay out of my Spydie drawer! The sad part was that I often ask her for her Cricket or Kiwi when we are out as the full size Millie is often too much knife...

Thanks for the details guys. I bought an older (9/97) G10 Harpy online and wanted a good match for the Civilian that I received for Christmas. Should be a good match. Ill report once I get my Harp (and G10 rookie too!)

G10 Harpy - steel liners?

Anyone know if the G10 Harpy models had steel liners? I'm awaiting one to arrive but wanted to know if all models were lined?

I could only see it being a bit of a concern if you carried the know tip-up. The serrations on the exposed blade could potentially catch on something before opening.

That's a great display.

I use a few drawers on my tool chest, my kitchen knife drawer and dresser drawer. But to go I picked up a TAD Gear knife collector pouch and it holds 16 folders and 4 fixed blades and folds up nice and neat!

I do appreciate the FRN for durability and they tend to be my go-to EDC. Light and durable, and over the years better steel to go with! The G10 models are new to me this year so I have yet to really notice the pants pocket getting eaten up. I have to admit that my stainless models take a beating in ...

Scale preference?

I admit I'm a big fan of the Stainless models. They can be a bit high maintenance for EDC compared to the FRN and G10. I've found myself collecting the stainless models (I want them all ;) ) and end up carrying the G10 or FRN models. The carbon fibre models are sweet but don't appeal to me. Does any...

Thanks guys. The Police III in SE would make for a good pair. Although the Police 3 only comes in flat ground.

In my ignorance. What is a clip point?
