Its like wheel alignment to a car as it is blade centering to a folder. Wouldn't hurt if you purchased it new with already centered blade especially at a certain pricepoint that you paid for. It also brings a certain likability when you intend to sell in the future.

Superleaf gets my vote. It carries well for a thick 3.5" blade due to the wire clip & over-all thin profile.

Spyderco Superleaf : new found love for the right blade shape & thickness, comp lock, comfy G10 handle, decent VG-10 and discreet wire clip. Sadly it's disco'd...but rides with me almost everyday! :)

]Hi there! I admire the B. Southard for it's handle to blade ratio but the blade tip has poked my thumb (drew a little blood) when i hurriedly took it out from my RFP. Instead of reaching for the handles scales, I accidentally pushed my thumb in between the handle straight to the blade tip! And for ...

Love the Para 1 . I may currently have the Para 2 but can't let go of the Para 1's either! It's a different handle on it's own that it's nice to come back to all the time.

Just have them shipped to your office (if possible) and then don't say anything more. If she spots a new one, just say "What, this old thing, I've had it for years. You can also rub a little dirt on a new one and then let her see you cleaning and say, whew, it's about time that I got around to...
