Re: The Advocate - An Official Statement from Spyderco

My Advocate hasn't left my pocket since it arrived. Plan is to rotate EDC between the Advocate, Southard BB, and Slysz Bowie. All three are awesome knives.

Re: Where is the new, improved Advocate?

I got mine from Spydero's online store. It only took a few days to arrive and it's a great knife. I was showing it off to friends last night and they were all very impressed with it. I am EDCing it as I type.

Agreed! Although, I also have a GB2. They are like Lay's Potato Chips - can't have just one!

Re: The Advocate - An Official Statement from Spyderco

Mine arrived on the 8th. Another work of art! Taiwan's knives continue to impress with perfect in fit and finish. The flip action is smoother and surer than my Southard BB, which I also love. The workmanship is outstanding. Blade is perfectly centered and scary sharp. The Advocate is thinner than th...

Re: Where is the new, improved Advocate?

Thanks, Kristi! Happy New Year! I just ordered an Advocate from your online store. And thank you so much for keeping us up to date on things. I hope that you had a great time at the Shot Show! I miss doing the trade shows and seeing you folks.

Re: The Advocate - An Official Statement from Spyderco

I will definitely buy the revamped version as soon as it's available in the Spyderco store. I've grown fond of flippers and the Advocate is a beauty.

Re: The Advocate - An Official Statement from Spyderco

Any news on the Advocate redesign? I was ready to pull the trigger today on one, but want to wait for the redesigned pivot. The Southard Blackblade gave me flipper fever, and I love Gayle Bradley designs. :-)

Re: New Black Southard

Nice Southard, and thanks for the pics! I love the look of the Southard, but the ergonomics are totally off for my hand, so I'll probably never buy one. :( I can understand that. However, it just works for me. Both, the Southard and Domino. Which imo, are two oh so very fine pieces. The Domino in p...

My Black Southard is one of my two favorite EDCs, the Slysz Bowie being the other. I'm developing a strong partiality to flippers.

Re: Slysz Bowie: Impressions, Comparisons, and Review

Great review, thanks! I already wanted one since seeing Wouter's initial thoughts from the show, but this review solidified my desire. My Slysz Bowie arrived today and I am very happy with it. The size is about perfect for my hands, and the contoured edges provide a very comfortable grip. The rock-s...

Re: Spyderco Tactical Pen?

I carry a CRKT Tac Pen daily and love it. The Fisher Space Pen refills have proven invaluable in every writing scenario I encounter. The screw-apart design helps give it rigidity in tactical use. Click design would not be useful to me. I'd be willing to go with a Spyderco Tac Pen if it used the Spac...

I just don't understand why they don't still do this? It seems that it would be a compromise between the personal freedom and the safety: They hold the knife and give it back to you when you leave the plane. Right? Also, why did they discontinue providing mail pouches? It is not a cost issue for th...

Almost lost my Centofante Memory the same way. I had it in a pair of pants and missed it when I packed. It took TSA three tries through the x-ray to actually locate the knife. The inspector could tell that a) I was surprised, and b) I didn't want to lose it. I went back and checked the bag and still...

I think that's illegal in several states here in the U.S.A., being an unnatural act. Not sure aboot the Great White North, eh.
