Quick'n Easy way to figure your edge angle
I'm guessing this was posted before, but it's news to me at least. An easy way to figure out your edge angle is to take out your calipers and measure the thickness right behind the edge bevels and the length of the edge bevel (from the factory, shallower grind to the edge) and use the inverse tangen...

Unless I'm time crunching with a dull knife, I don't mind taking the extra step(s) to attain a polished edge. Hair whittling, I like to do for amusement/enjoyment every once in a while and to test my sharpening abilities without a stopping. I personally don't think it's absolutely necessary in an ED...

I wouldn't be surprised. I believe they do. Wire EDMing is a lot more precise over water jets or laser cutting. That, and if done in a large production environment, it doesn't add a lot of cost despite the $500K price tag. Only real draw back is that it's a little slow in terms of cutting speed. My ...

H1 = super soft?
So far, I've been loving my H1 ladybug, but I noticed there are scratches on the blade from cutting saw grass. My friend borrowed my knife the other day because we were bored and I watched him the whole time. All he did was cut some saw grass. Last night, I noticed small scratches that weren't there...

Unless you're doing really harsh stuff with your blades, you'll be fine with either. The comp lock is stronger, though. In my opinion, I prefer just a little bit more the liner lock because it is easier to use, though I find the comp lock easy as well. I guess you could say that the comp lock is str...

This is what it'll roughly look like. Differences being that the paracord will thread through it, the design of the titanium will be different and shorter, and I probably won't heat anodize it. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6094/6244867678_a878514536_z.jpg By the way, Titanium wears out High Speed ...

Removing surface rust?
What would be the easiest way to remove surface rust from the spyder hole? I ended up having a little bit of surface rust on the top inside portion, closest to the spine.

When does Tuf-Glide Dry?
Better put, how can you tell when Tuf-glide is dried? Once dry, is there still a blueish residue left?

Just used the knife to cut the heels off two shoes (Never knew shoes had plastic lining) for my friend, afterwards the Manix 2 was still shaving sharp and a minute on the strop and it's back to its razor edge. I'm really loving this steel. Also I think I put a little torque (accidentally, of course)...

I've been thinking about ordering an M4 Manix myself. The size is a bit larger that what I like to carry, but I can't ignore my intrigue with everything that surrounds this line. The Manix 2 line in general is a very nice line, especially for the money the plain Manix 2. I was a little iffy on the ...

So far I'm loving the M4 steel. Like most carbon/tool steels, it sharpens easily, holds an incredibly fine edge and can hold an edge for a long while. 95% of my sharpening experience was with S30V and I can say that it's a little easier to sharpen, at least it was easier to create a burr. It also ha...
