I consider my Millie a hard-use knife... for the use I put it to... it is a demon on cardboard, zip-ties tremble before it's serrations... mail, package-tape, clam-shell packaging, even apples are no match for my millie... however, if I want to chop up a small tree... well, that is what fixed-blade ...

I have 3 of the older Starmates (love the design... kind of a 'star-trek' version of the military) and I recently received several of the new ones... I have found no issues with any of these... they all are flawless in fit and finish... even blade grinds... no lock-up issues... everything I have com...

I carry this... occasionally... (I still haven't found the Spydie that can drive the Millie from my pocket) It is top quality, solid, tough, etc... I have very large hands and this knife ROCKS!!!

I love the Techno, but it gets lost in the palm... so, the Szabo, Millie, Tuff, and Large Lum for me!

I used my Civilian in self-defense - I am pretty sure my right hand though it was defending me from my left hand... and my right hand stopped the assumed 'attack' very quickly... I had to go get a band-aid very quickly as well...

If I really love a knife (and Spyderco knives are real easy to love) then it is not about having that knife... it is about having one for EDC... one for backup (I tend to lose things - at least that is my rationalization) and one or two for barter when the world economy collapses (again, my rational...

I love the peel-ply G-10 --- it is a hard-use material that doesn't show a lot of minor wear... and grips you back better than titanium... I have carried a G-10 military since they came out in 1997... talk about impervious material that can handle anything I throw at it... Love the stuff! just my op...

I like opening flippers... I own several from multiple companies and from custom makers... I find that flippers open very fast and easy... closing is problematic... I get 'bit' if I am not careful... the flipper + spyderhole solves both - fast opening (slower, controlled opening via hole available) ...
