I've got a plain-edged 440V Military, and it's a GREAT knife, but it's a little on the big side for me for every day carry. I'm kinda scared to whip that big sucker out around others! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

The Blade was described as being just bit longer than 3 inches. If I remember correctly, the design of the knife required that extra fraction of an inch in blade length. I also seem to remember hints that a small test run might be made available through one of the Spyderco forums <img src="wink...

I think I remember reading somewhere on Bladeforums that a Mil jr model was already on it's way to "testing" with a ~3 blade. It was described as being a chopped down Military, not a downscaled version. I can't wait to see one <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

Maybe Spyderco could inlay James' Chai/Life symbol into a forum knife, with the "Good Karma Cut" going to some worthy cause. I think that might be a really fitting remembrance to a good man.
