Re: Ideas for "sprint runs", NOT concerning steel (let´s dream...)

C54 (full size) Calypso. And since we're dreaming: open pillar construction, CF scales, compression lock, deep carry clip, and maybe even that new Bic styled flipper wheel like the soon to be released Ikuchi. Yeah that the ticket, yeah.

Re: WE or KME for Spyderco FFG Blades

What made you go with KME over WE? Just curious as I was within a hare's breath of purchasing the WE, but went with a KME instead. Part of my reasoning involved limited work bench space and need for quick set up and take down. My decision to go with KME was also influenced by the positive reviews b...

Re: WE or KME for Spyderco FFG Blades

I’ll also say that it is completely possible to get the same results with the KME. It just takes a bit more work doing one side at a time. I now use the KME after trying every other sharpening system under the sun. However, I still use my Sharpmaker with UF stones to touch-up blades that were profi...

Re: Knives that dominate your pockets over Spydercos?

Multitools notwithstanding (I typically have a SAK or Leatherman Skeletool around), lately the folders are: - Microtech Socom Elite (new version released in 2018): although billed as "tactical", I find it outstanding as a hard use outdoors knife. - Hinderer XM-18 3.5" Gen 4 Spearpoint and ZT0562: Ge...

Re: Confession

Don't feel bad! I haven't touched my PM2 since I bought the Caribbean. For me, it outclasses the PM2 in every way. I've read so many good things about the Caribbean. The LC200N is especially compelling to me since I live by the ocean. Unfortunately its blade length exceeds the legal restriction in ...

Re: Confession

Have to admit, didn't care for it when it was first released. Bought one anyway to see what the hype was all about, but never warmed up to it. The handle shape really bothered me so I eventually abandoned the knife. Flash forward to 2017, I discover custom CF PM2 scales by Aramis which addressed the...

Re: S30V Only Cool if it's a Benchmade?

Premium steels make all the difference in the world...when you list a knife for resale :). For practical use, S30V/S35V has always been an outstanding steel for my purposes.

Probably, particularly if it was shaped even somewhat like the CRK Insingo blade shape. I'd buy a PM2 with any sheep's foot blade shape before I'd buy one with a tanto blade.
+1.
Sheep's foot - intriguing, I'd just might have to try one.
Tanto - definitely no.

Re: Aftermarket Military CQI Scales

Another +1 for Aramis scales. Styling is subjective so I know his may not be everyones cup of tea. However if you like what you see in his offerings, you can rest assured that he is a stand-up guy and straight shooter. Fast communications (just remember he's in Russia and they have their own holiday...

Great looking knife, no doubt but it’s made in China. Here's the answer: "At present, the nation of "China" is represented by two separate authorities: the Republic of China (commonly referred to as Taiwan) and the People's Republic of China (in mainland China and commonly referred to as just...

This knife is very appealing to the eye. I've seen others in this style that I've been tempted to buy, but never pulled the trigger. Anyone mind providing some real world feedback on this design style? This is the one I've been waiting for. Eric describes the knife fairly well in this video, starti...

Re: Guys who put lanyards on your knives, why?

I use a thinner diameter para cord with a snake braid (?). It's braided tight and short so it sticks straight up as shown in the photo and doesn't flop over. It also doesn't flop around when I'm using the knife. This is what I use if I have to carry IWB. Otherwise it can be removed in seconds for re...
