Re: Para 3 Lightweight Salt first impressions

The original PARA 3 LW was my first Spyderco knife, so it holds a special place in my heart. After rolling the blade out and gripping it for the first time I instantly "got it" with the whole Spyderco thing. It went from "weird looking knife" to a masterwork of design follows fu...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

My PM2 helped me cut open 12 arborvitae planters and 20 bags of top soil today.

Re: Delica size with fidget factor?

I’ll add the Watu to my short list and check it out. Sounds like an interesting option. Much appreciated.

Re: Delica size with fidget factor?

Is the Sage similar in size to the Delica? And is the LW version the one to get?

Re: Delica size with fidget factor?

Thanks so much. Great input.

I didn’t realize the PM3 was close in size to the Delica. That makes the PM3 LW a good option. I wish there was a ship date on the PM3 Salt.

Check out the Mantra 3 as well. It's discontinued, but should still be readily available on the secondary market.
Will do

Re: Delica size with fidget factor?

I was thinking of that knife. I think it’s a little bigger than a Delica but probably manageable.

I don’t know if there is an ETA on it yet though.

Delica size with fidget factor?

I love my Delica but miss the fidget factor of the compression lock PM2? Is there a Spyderco in the D4 size with a compression lock? Or at least similar fun factor to a PM? Thanks!

PS and if it came in a Salt version, I’d be smitten!

T6 on the clip. T8 on the scales to liners or body screws and T10 on the pivot.
Thanks so much!

Re: New PM2 question

Thanks. I cracked one side of the pivot a bit and it helped. I don’t have the Torx screw to get the clip off so I can’t get to the other side.

Does anyone know what size the clip torx are?

New PM2 question

I bit the bullet and bought a PM2. I really like it a lot. It’s built like a tank!

One question: it’s a little stiff to open and close. Will it break in overtime or is it worth adding a drop of oil to the pivot? It’s not as ‘flicky’ as the videos I see online.

I cut a piece of heavy plastic landscape edging with my Pac 2 today. It didn’t even wince!

Thanks all. I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a cheaper variant of the much coveted PM2 before I pulled the trigger.

Re: Good second Spyderco

Just to close the loop, I ended up ordering a PM2 today. I’m excited about it! I definitely don’t need it and could absolutely live with this Delica but what fun is that? 😉
