Re: The best "worst" serrated knives I have ever owned.

I think that my knowledge and experience with serrated knives is fairly extensive. Probably more than most folks in the industry. That's why my first comment to Mike's thread was, "You're kidding, right"? Had he known more about Spyderco, or me, he wouldn't have come on like some kind of ...

Re: How about a PM60 Mule?

Better toughness at higher obtainable hardness is what I've read. When I read Dr Larrins first book, the images of rex66 stood out to me. Traits of high front end sharpness might carry over to rex66 from its T15 bretheren too. After testing rex45 and rex 76 extensively I believe rex66 has potential...

Re: How about a PM60 Mule?

Hey sal , I have a question. Slightly loaded. I'm just conferring with Jason and we're at a bit of an impasse. While he has some personal stuff going on in his life and I absolutely died laughing at him telling me that he actually asked you for a job. I'm assuming that you don't really do much day t...

Re: How about a PM60 Mule?

Hey Mike, Need more info on CPM MPL-1. I can get the chemistry from Crucible. What's it used for? Whose using it? etc? sal I don't believe that it has ever been used, Jason would know more about that one but from what I do know? It's been patented. I'm assuming that it never went into production du...

Re: How about a PM60 Mule?

I'll be studying the composition differences next week. We're always looking for new and better. K390 came about because I was studying chemistry of BU steels and asked them to make some for me. I explained our program and the potential for future sales so they agreed to make some. It took a long t...

Re: The best "worst" serrated knives I have ever owned.

Hey Mike, Eric wanted to try a more common serration on the Z-Cut models because of whom he is competing against. Jay is welcome to join and converse here, but he will need to maintain our friendly platform. Maybe he's not been able to converse on forums before, but I do believe he will find folks ...

Re: T15 tarnish

I just did this to show you - this is what oxalic acid does there's absolutely nothing to panic over its a very thin layer that is easily removed. https://gyazo.com/2175e1cf75e20c215f7091451380f4f1 Now, as opposed to BKF, that discoloration is because I was using a brass (I said bronze 😭) brush. Or ...

Re: T15 tarnish

I appreciate all of your replies but I think you've made your thoughts very clear. I'd like to hear from someone that could answer my questions about what is applied so I can look into it. Also, BKF was rinsed off after 10-15 sec and the guy who I go to for cerakote has already told me he sandblast...

You indeed are and yes I kinda feel like.. an A hole because I know exactly why you read it how you did. I should have never really included Spyderco in the photos and 'succinctified' that I was just looking for information. So, obviously sorry for the confusion and everything. I'm just the kind of ...

Re: The best "worst" serrated knives I have ever owned.

My experience of the Kitchen Devil type serrations is that they arrive sharp, and as they wear the thin stock and fine (but blunt) teeth allow the knife to keep separating softer foodstuffs almost indefinitely, albeit without finesse or accuracy. I far prefer properly sharp kitchen knives, both pla...

Performance graphics or just raw data and photos/video? I'd probably say the former is a bit superfluous. What would you guys prefer? Optimum angle for durability and edge retention. I can't speak for everyone, but that's the only thing that interests me about this material. Edge retention isn't ex...
