Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Delica 4 Wharncliffe I got for a song. Brand new in box. Think I’m going to void the warranty and post in the Modification gallery! :winking-tongue Oh? What's the plan? I've enjoyed installing Flytanium Ti backspacers on mine. Gonna grind the spine down and swap the blade into a set for Gray FRN sc...

Re: My SE Endura wharnie project.

Hi Dave, I must say that I've done that many times. So "Moving on" just means you'll do better the next time. Some examples; The Stretch 2 XL I've been refining over and over since 1984. The Swick took 22 ears and numerous versions to get it to where I was satisfied. "Never give up, ...

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!

Chicago Knifeworks has the Swayback for only $177 and if you aren't already on their mailing list and sign up (like I did) it takes another 5% off. I just grabbed one and it came to $168 shipped (free shipping)! It's hard to find a used one for that cheap. https://www.chicagoknifeworks.com/spyderco...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

It technically hasn't shipped yet but I'm super stoked about my swayback that I just ordered last night! I've really started getting into titanium knives and am also head over heels in love with the Marcin Slysz Taichung models I've gotten so far (Techno 2 and Chef) so I figured I might as well grab...

I can but I just didn’t even like the look so it really bummed me out. I threw it in a drawer and I’m moving on.

Re: My SE Endura wharnie project.

I put the scales on with the black hardware and honestly didn’t like it. It made the action horribly stiff and I just didn’t like the look either. It didn’t comer out like I had in my mind so I just put it back to all black. Plus the clip screws won’t reach the liners with the micarta scales. So I c...

Re: Crazy Deals that are Non Spyderco

Super good sale at Eknives in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Chaves knives! Gotta say, the Chaves 229 Rendencion Lee Williams Kickstop is as every bit as good or maybe a touch smoother even than a Hinderer! I've had plenty of Tri-Way Hinderers to know 😆 At any rate, the 229 Kickstop is on sale for $280!...

Re: Got my amazing Chaves 229 yesterday!

It’s really no thicker than my Shaman. Maybe you’re confusing it with another model? I’ve seen medfords and they’re ridiculous, this thing of nowhere near as chunky as those. Here’s an above view and you can see blade and scale thickness is per much the same as the Shaman. According to the specs the...

Re: Got my amazing Chaves 229 yesterday!

Yeah I really like the way they did it as well. I like how they did the transition of the two edges much less abrupt than most do on a tanto. You really have to look at it to tell it’s even a tanto and not just a drop point. I also like the compound bevels so that the two different sections of the e...

Re: Got my amazing Chaves 229 yesterday!

Willing to bet your Shaman cuts 5x better though! That's a pretty weird grind on that knife. More show and no go! Actually it doesn’t. Like McLaren said this thing is a lightsaber through stuff (so far just paper, cardboard and blocks of cheese.) with that deep hollow grind. From what I’ve read the...

Got my amazing Chaves 229 yesterday!

I’ve been wanting to get into a little higher end knives a bit (but still realistically affordable). I’ve been looking at Quiet Carry, Chaves and CRK’s mostly. After having my Spydiechef and Techno 2 I’ve really grown to love titanium scales and the fit and feel of a little higher quality knife than...

Took some really cool pictures today. This was my favorite Spydie photo. Beautiful picture, one of the best I've seen of the Techno 2. przemekspce has some competition now :grin-smiling-eyes Thank you very much! 😂 From what I’ve seen on here I’m nowhere even closer to in the same class as these guy...

Re: Sharpmaker Elite Edition

You must not have experienced any fixed sharpening systems yet, to relate the Sharpmaker to a Hilux hahaha. I don’t get it 🤷🏼‍♂️ Spell it out for me man 😂 I’ve got a KME and a Worksharp Precision Adjust. The former gets used weekly when I bulk sharpen, and the latter gathers dust in a cupboard. I f...

Re: What "others" are in the mail?

Those are definitely nice. I’d I did ever get one it would be a large sebenzo inkosi or the umnumzaan. Those are definitely the two that catch my eye the most. I’ve seen a lot of people say the Chaves have amazing feel as well. Very smooth actions and lock up super tight. Plus that kick stop they st...

Re: What "others" are in the mail?

I’m soooo stoked!! I’ve got a Chaves 229 Tanto with the kick stop flipper coming from Blade HQ! They have a killer sale going on them right now. I’ve never had a mid level premium knife before. The fanciest knives I own are my Chef and Techno 2. They’re both incredibly nice and well finished but I d...
