Re: River's Edge Exclusive
Nice, where do these show up on their website? I never saw the DLC one listed. How much was the DLC one? Will the Satin version cost less?WilliamMunny wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 7:41 amREC just posted the drop on the satin version will be 7/5 at noon. Just don't buy mine, excited for this one.

Re: Advice Needed on Shaman CPM 15V Edge Damage
I was able to remove the damaged steel on the edge pretty easily with the SM brown rods. The edge definitely needs more work though. If I stick with the SM, would you suggest diamond or CBN rods? I prefer to bot go the freehand sharpening route as I’m a novice and don't want to go down the rabbit h...

Re: Magnacut rust from pocket carry
heck those specs could be embedded from when the knife was machiend. Even my stainless homebrew pots and kegs can rust though, and that stainless only has one job, not to rust. There is also a passivation process that can reduce rusting.

Re: Really liking S90V
Your question has a long, complex, answer. Of which I'm not going to attempt. However, hardness isn't the only variable when it comes to a steel's edge retention. An given how individualized "actual use" is, it's really hard to compare. Larrin Thomas is a metallurgist who's done extensive...

Re: Really liking S90V
Just how much more edge retention does S90v have over cruwear in actual use? Tring to determine if I need a second PM2 in S90v.... Or maybe I should wait for another knife to come avaiulable in this steel... On BladeHQ site, they are listed as pretty similar in hardness, with S90v having better edge...

Re: Military 2 Discussion (Merged)
Too bad it's not in another steel like Spy27, seems like a missed oportunity.
I'll pick one up eventually, but might wait for something other than S30V, not that there is really anything wrong with S30V.

Re: Clipitool Standard Warranty Question
So I sent it in for warranty and spyderco did replace it. However they stated that the knife had been worn out or abused and would typically have not been covered under warranty, but this one time they would replace it. This knife has only seen light use, just a couple vacations / campouts where I w...

Re: How'd you wrap your mule handles with paracord? (pics welcome)
Found some paracord I had laying around and decided to give this a shot. Just spent a coupel hours trying to do this, took it apart a couple times. My last attempt was the best, and just realized I missed a turn somewhere in the middle. I wan't to get better results... I just realize I used utility ...

Re: 15V Mule Team scale bolt holes
So I went to put my Halpern scales on and the barrels wont fit through the holes. Yay. Checked for burrs like we have seen before, none. Tried to hammer them through, tried to pull then through with a screw on the other side and no joy. Tried some other barrels from a SFO bought scale set, no joy. ...

Re: Who's making scales?
I just finished up a pair of Purple Heartwood scales for my SPY27 straight spine mule. Here are some progress pics: https://i.imgur.com/nbIqtZ8.jpg I start with some very crudely cut blanks from a hand carpenter saw, and then a coping saw. If I was better at using a coping saw, and could mount the ...

Re: 15V Shaman!
Anyone tried the 5x5 recluse clip for the shaman? Seems to be the best deep carry design, but I'm unsure if I want to replace the back spacer on my 15v shaman. Will it mess up the balance?

Re: 15V Shaman!
Got my 15V Shaman, it's a nice knife, although I do wish the handle had more texture. I'm not a fan of smooth grips really, micarta probably would have been better if they wanted a semi smooth grip. The action is addicting, but for some reason when I close it the knife tab always smacks my finger, w...

Picked one up from Highlander Knives, Thanks to poster above.
They don't have many left, but used Coupon code: COBB to save10% or −$28.60
Hope this helps someone
edit: Looks like they increased the price significantly after I ordered

Re: Clipitool Standard Warranty Question
Sorry, I wasn't trying to slam spiderco, my other spydercos are made in USA orJapan and have been great knives. This one is made in China, and I was just wondering if it is worth trying to warranty it or if they are all just a bit sloppy with lockup (specifically the Clipitool standard). What I mean...

Re: Military 2 (PRE-ORDER) posted on KnifeCenter $196
Thinking about purchasing the military 2. I really liked my Para 2 with Tanto (BHQ Exclusive), but the clip failed and before I could correct the clip (bend it back), it fell out of my pocket and I lost it. I'm thinking this might be a good replacement for it even though it's obviously somewhat diff...

Clipitool Standard Warranty Question
So I bought this to be a good camping knife I wouldn't have to worry too much about. I like that it has a can opener and basic screwdriver, but especially cool is the bottle opener with the spidy hole. I don't carry keys, or a lighter, so I don't want to carry around a seperate bottle opener. I kind...
