I own several Manix's and love them.
However, I am in a phase of carrying bigger knives at the moment and don't own an XL... so I'd probably pick the XL right now lol.

Black Friday Wish List?
Last Black Friday I was able to score a Tasman, a Hawkbill Dragonfly, and a Serrated Native 5 in LC200N. I didn't intend on getting any of these knives, but the prices got so low I couldn't resist! What knives are you looking to get on Black Friday this year? Last year anything serrated, salt, or in...

Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..
Can't remember if I posted these on this thread or not. Salt 2 https://i.postimg.cc/RC3Xx4gk/PXL-20230904-181559659.jpg Sanded down the edges of my Crucarta PM2 and just went with a straight blue this time instead of the fade. https://i.postimg.cc/LstFTj1V/PXL-20231015-180308801-2.jpg Your PM2 look...

Re: Experiences with hawkbills?
The lack of versatility is definitely the crux for me. I have a LB salt HB SE and a SS Harpy SE and I really like both of them, but outside very specific applications, the few things they excel in does not make up for all the tasks they suck at. I carried the LB HB as a companion knife for a while,...

Re: Experiences with hawkbills?
I've been a devout Spyderco Hawkbill fan for a long time ( 20 years plus). I've found that using a medium sized, fully serrated Hawkbill like the Harpy model makes a great companion blade to work along side a favorite plain edged EDC blade. One brother mentions "gardening". And yes a full...

Experiences with hawkbills?
Been recently carrying a Dragonfly with a serrated hawkbill. This has really been growing on me. It is easier to do draw cuts and the curved blade shape helps trap material. I think this definitely stands out in my collection. What is everyone else's experiences with hawkbills? I feel like I've slep...

Knife Rotation Journal - NOV 2023
The OCT 2023 knife rotation ( https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=95567 ) has concluded! Now it is time for the NOV 2023 rotation! My rotation for NOV 2023 is: 1. Spyderco H1 Dragonfly Hawkbill Serrated 2. Spyderco CruWear Paramilitary 2 3. Zero Tolerance 20CV 0562TI 1000002120-0123.j...

Re: Knife Rotation Journal - OCT 2023
Week 5 update! So this is the end of the OCT 2023 knife rotation. I really enjoyed the rotation configuration of 4-5 weeks and 3 knives. It was enough time to get a feel for them, but not long enough to resent them. In terms of rankings, here is how this played out: 2023-10-28 16_43_43-KNIFE RANKING...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
posted a coarse edge summary in another thread and figured I should copy it here: Either PE or SE can be given a microserrated edge by using very coarse stones. Of course with SE it can be tough to find a wide variety of coarse stones....you may have to wrap sandpaper around a sharpmaker rod, a rul...

Somehow I missed this one. I don't own many fixed blades and have been looking at snagging an Enuff for a while now. The Stok looks really sweet though.

Re: The more I carry and use the UKPK the more I like it
It's funny how things work. If you asked me a year ago if I would ever own a UKPK I would have said no. If you asked me today I would tell you that it is at the top of my list. Threads like these definitely make it more of a priority. :)

Re: Knife Rotation Journal - OCT 2023
Week 4 update! Nothing crazy to report. The Delica is starting to get more pocket time and its edge is fine. The Bugout is officially starting to snag and the Military 2 is snagging again as well. I regret stropping the Military 2 on Week 2. I think moving forward I am going to run the rotation for ...

Re: Knife Rotation Journal - OCT 2023
Keeping tool steel knives rust free isn't so bad as long as the pivot stays dry. If I cut up, say, an apple with my M4 Chief, I make sure nothing approaches the pivot. That way I don't need to rinse off that area and possibly need to oil it again. This is one of those "how did you not know tha...

Re: Knife Rotation Journal - OCT 2023
I've done the rotation thing for a long time. I usually averaged 6 knives in my rotation and would carry each one for a work week. I decided that this was taking too long to get back to a knife that I had just carried so I changed to a 2-3 day rotation. This meant I would go all the way through 6 k...

Re: Knife Rotation Journal - OCT 2023
This is what 3 weeks of cutting lemons daily looks like with a K390 Delica. I was able to clean most of it up by using a wire brush. FWIW the pivot area had more rust spots compared to the actual blade. Could have taken better care of it, but a simpler solution is to just avoid cutting wet things wi...
