Re: Spyderco Online Factory Seconds Sale!

Awesome thanks for the notice. I always found out too late. So I’ve always wondered about the second sale. Joined her in 2019 or early 2020 and never experienced one. Is it going to be on the Spyderco website?

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Lil’ Native all black CruWear 😁 😢 well I got the knife and unboxed it. It was the sharpest knife out of the box that I have ever gotten. It’s a beautiful knife for its size. But then I made a mistake! And no I did not cut off a finger. I showed it to my daughter. Why, why, why…. Why would I do that?...

Re: Get me excited about M398

IMHO burrs when sharpening are not going to happen on hard steels. A steel that sharpens without burrs is my preference. I know it is hard enough not to deform with the miniscule amount of pressure one applies when sharpening. I was re-reading this thread and realized that I do not always look to c...

Re: Best place to sell some Spyderco’s online

Thanks for asking this question. I need to begin selling and really wanted to avoid BF, so now I'm finally a Reddit member. We'll see how long that lasts. Don’t go off the knife swap page. It’s a dumpster fire 🔥 🔥🔥 Haha. I've gathered that. This will be my only other social media other than a few d...

Re: Mule Team for a Fixed Knife Newbie?

Just buy the Mule, scales and Boltron sheath (make it a package) Paracord will not give you a true enjoyment in my opinion. Mules are a good thick blade that takes a good punishment. My opinion is different. I've been using paracord wrapped Mules for work and play since MT01 came out. It works fine...

Re: How good was Spyderco.com for last Mule drop

Great work Team Spyderco! Wow 🤩 the site was blazing fast 💨 I didn’t have to refresh once and pages loads quick. The only hiccup was my own when I entered the expiration date incorrectly. Quick fix and it was over before I knew it. Thank you Team Spyderco for all that you do for this amazing communi...

Re: Sharpening angles for recent mules

If you've come here for answers then you'll likely just get more confused because many people here will likely confuse you further, not by some ill will or something like that but purely because they are quite confused themselves on many things. That 15-17 DPS you mention is what I consider to be a...

Re: HRC Database

Sigh stumbled onto this thread and thought hmm 🤔 maybe this will help sort out my confusion.

Nope! Just reinforced my confusion with HRC and bevel angles.

Sigh 😔 still optimistic that I will figure it out some day.

Re: Sharpening angles for recent mules

The bevel/sharpening angles, HRC being pushed to higher hardness for the mules and other knives has really confused me. When I first joined the Spyderco forum I came in thinking 15-17 degrees was for kitchen knives. But that seems not to be the case here. I also sharpened a lot of my pocket knives t...

Re: Ideal Blade Steels For Whittling?

Would the Mule Team SPY27 make a good steel for whittling? I was thinking I could hand grind a finger choil where the nub is located to give me more control. It’d would be a fun project and that mule doesn’t cost so much and it can be replaced if I damage it to much.

Re: Ideal Blade Steels For Whittling?

Well I’m a couple of years late for this topic/thread but you all inspired me. **** I didn’t even know about the Spyderco forum or mules when you started this discussion. I didn’t have a lot of the different steel that were discussed when I first stumbled across the topic. But I did have D2 so I sta...

Thanks 🙏 everyone. Oddly enough you all forgot one person each. I tend to read everything I see posted by each one of you. And to the 3 “not me” amigos - I’m adding you to the pay attention to list. Now I need to figure out how to follow individuals in the forums. Is it the friend or foe options tha...

I can certainly give you a list of who *not* to pay attention to, starting and ending with yours truly! 🤣
Love it. But you know now that you told me not to, I’m going to have to.

Hi Greg, Do you have a Spyderco Sharpmaker? sal Not yet but I’m looking into it, Hi Sal, Edit - after reading about Spyderco’s start in the education area about us. I now feel obligated to buy a Sharpmaker. I did not realize the significance of the recommendation. Thank you for the advice. I look f...

Re: MT39P – CPM 15V Mule Team Dropping Soon!

So I did a lot of YouTube watching and combined several ideas. Some worked how I wanted and some didn’t. IMG_2035.jpeg IMG_2036.jpeg Two things I changed on the second phase. 1 I kept the mustard stripes skinny. The thicker mustard stripe didn’t turn out quite how I wanted. I was going for an argyle...

Re: MT39P – CPM 15V Mule Team Dropping Soon!

I’m having a lot of fun with this mule already. I did a patina on the steel that turned out better than I hoped. I was going to do a paracord handle but was told that would be bad on 15V. Paracord apparently collects moisture. I like the way the patina turned out so much that I don’t want to put pl...

Looking for Gurus to follow

Hello, I am looking for knife experts in the forum that I should pay extra attention to due to their years of experience. I know some of you might want to remain anonymous and I respect that. Not looking to bug anyone just want to follow them in the forum to learn from them. Thanks ahead of time. P....

Oh wow sorry to hear that. It only took me two times going through the whole sharpening process before I got a quality edge. Must be frustrating. Hope it works out for you.
