I know its an old thread - but the tips in here were very useful for my sharpening technique. I’ve got a UK Penknife in LC200N and the left side must have a bevel below 15 degrees as the 15 degree per side setting (30 degree bevel labeleled) just catches the apex (checked using the sharpie method). ...

Also don’t be afraid to use your brown stone on your S110V. It will cut it a bit better and leave a rougher finish that may pull cut better. I’ve already read that S110V likes a rougher edge better than a polished one (I reckon it was in a table about different steels from a rope cut test - but can...

I really love my Spyderco Sharpmaker :bug-red-white and it is my go to tool for sharpening. I don’t use my stones any longer. Only problem is that it is a bit difficult to know which angle to use for what knive. For my kitchen knives I use the 30 degree setting - but some of them needed a reprofilin...
