In a display of the human capacity for self-delusion I held for several days that I would pass on the SNK 4V Deadpool Mannix 2 & the TKJ Para3 LW Cru-wear.
Both incoming.

Re: What knife do you actually carry and use the most?
[/quote] Hi. I thought the blade length carry limit for the City of Los Angeles is 3". Most of the time when I've traveled up to L.A. (which is admittedly not very often anymore), I've carried a Delica, or Delica-sized folder, clipped. I have carried a Pac Salt down in my pocket, though. Jim [/...

Re: What knife do you actually carry and use the most?
I always have 3 knives on me. A primary slicer, a beast, and a DFly K390. The DFly gets the most use by far, as it is always in my left front pocket, both at home and away (L. A. blade limit). It gets most of the daily light work, and seems to never need sharpening if stropped occasionally. The home...

Re: A full size Native slipjoint?
What type of clip would be preferred? sal Hi Sal: For me, the hourglass clip is the best functioning clip on the planet, and it works perfectly on the Native 5. I'd still buy a few with the wire, though. It's a close second. Note that a few of the people I'd gift this knife to would likely take the...

Re: A full size Native slipjoint?
Even though I can legally carry locking models here in L. A, I would buy an N5 Slippie in a heartbeat. The Native is the most ergo-perfect knife in my hand on the planet, and I'll take anything in that family. Further, I'd certainly also buy several as gift knives for my non-geek friends. Everyone u...

Re: Why Do Seki Models Have Lock Rock??!!
I had no idea there were so many folks on this forum who were metallurgists/industrial design engineers... I'm with Vivi. Complete faith in the safety of all my Spyderco lockbacks - and I have some from all factories. I am NOT a metallurgist or design engineer, so I trust the team in Golden over my ...

Yes to just about anything "CruCarta" but a GB with that terrifying hollow in CruWear would be amazing. Never held the GB1, but love the 2 in M4.

Things are already going OOS at WMK and it's only 3 hours in. I grabbed a Shaman PE Blackout S30V for 10% below MAP plus 10% coupon code for 216.59 and may have gotten the last one. OOS now. Satin OOS, too. Act fast!

Re: Manix Observations (C95 vs XL)
I'd be all over this. The Manix 2 with the CBBL wants to jump out of my average sized hand when closing one-handed, while the XL is perfect - if a bit large for frequent carry.
A C95 in Cru-Wear would be an instant buy.

Re: What do you view as the main grip on these types of knives?
Wonder what others think when it comes to mid sized models like the PM2, mini manix, etc. For me, with average hand (7" wrist to tip / 3.5" across palm at knuckles), the "natural" grip on the PM2 is behind the choil. I use the choil for a normal choke up, and I sometimes put my ...

Re: What do you view as the main grip on these types of knives?
I know I have large hands but are ya'll really using your dragonfly folders without the choil? Even Natives and UKPK seem like a stretch here, and for me I know a para 3 requires the choil for a full grip. I attach a small fob to my DFlys and get a full grip, though only 3 fingers are on the handle...

Re: What do you view as the main grip on these types of knives?
On the Dragonfly 2 & Native 5 I probably choke up on the choil more than 50% of the time. All others only when I want more precise blade control. Though I may not use the choil on my PM2 CruCarta often, I am glad it is there, and always prefer models with choils. The larger the knife the more im...

I suspect that somewhere, in the deepest recesses of the high security vaults at Spyderco World Domination Headquarters, are spreadsheets that explain all of the decisions we are pondering here - without benefit of much, if any, data. I've never failed to snag an exclusive that I wanted, and MY spre...

Re: Crucarta Manix XL
I grabbed the XL in Cruwear and smooth G10 from Knifecenter, even though the regular Manix isn't the best platform for my hand - great when cutting, but wants to jump out of my hand when securing the blade one-handed. The XL is amazing, closes easily one-handed, and quickly took a place right behind...
