Re: Did CruWear Make S35vn Obsolete?
I don’t know about obsolete. I like both steels very much. Here’s a little anecdote you can take for what it’s worth. Last winter we had a pretty snowy season. I carried a benchmade in cruwear and a kizer in s35vn. I spent a lot of time spreading salt and shoveling snow. I cut open a lot of salt bag...

Re: Spyderco knives that you have gifted - any extra info welcome. To whom, why, and how did it hold up?
I have given away 3. I gave my cousin a well used native, the one with the bayonet style swedge. He needed a good knife and asked my advice. He used it for several years mechanicing. I gave a friend a resilience cause he was looking for a big knife. He’s an electrician and he uses it like crazy. Spy...

Re: Magnacut Rock Salt???
Any shot we will see an updated Schempp Rock Salt in Magnacut? I am losing hope finding a pre owned Rock Salt or even VG10 version. @edschempp @ericglesser @spyderco Spyderco-Schempp-Rock1.jpgScreenshot_20220821-211831_YouTube.jpg I hope so cause I have always wanted a Rock Salt and never found one...

Re: My Military S110V arrived, very stiff!
Hi, I just received my Burple Military in S110V steel. First thing I noticed was that it was off center opposite the clip side. I played with both pivot side screws and got it centered. It is however, very stiff. It is nothing like the PM2 which was almost glass smooth. I know this one has the line...

Re: The Vivi Conundrum.
I would favor the military 2 cause I am a compression lock type of dude. That said, I would probably take either in magnacut. I have been waiting for something to catch my eye in this steel and I like the design of both of these knives enough that either would probably take my money. A magnacut PE k...

Re: We need a Shaman XL
I don’t know that I will buy another knife until the no choil shaman comes out, unless a magnacut kapara happens first.

I have been looking forward to this one for some time. I do wish they would do a sheepsfoot griptilian style blade but ffg on this platform tooJSumm wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2022 5:14 pmThis may be the closest they get to a big Bugout.

Re: Any news on more Kapara goodness?
I am also ready for more Kapara goodness. Magnacut, crucarta, lil kapara, I want all the kaparas except maybe the slipit. I might even get that one though. This is the first knife out of hundreds of various knives over my lifetime where I said to myself I want every variation of this one. I missed t...

Re: Has any knife made you stop buying knives?
After a little over a month of carry, I think the Kapara has ruined my other knives for me. I can’t seem to make myself carry anything else, even though I really like my shaman and my lil native and my s110v pm2 and several of my benchmades that I used to rotate through I have only not carried the ...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
I haven’t had time to read the whole thread here, but today I tried something new to me. I sharpened up some m4 on dmt 220 grit, and skipped straight to the extra extra fine 8000 grit dmt to refine it about 4 passes per side, then stropped on 1 micron gunny juice. I am running at 15dps and this thin...

Re: Stupid award for cutting myself …
Twice I have dropped a knife on my leg point first, both were small puncture wounds but the second hit my shin. That second one soaked my sock and the top of my boot in blood in the time that it took to pick the knife up and close it and pull my pant leg up to look at it. It stopped pretty quickly w...

Re: Build your own dream Spyderco
My dream would be a stonewashed magnacut kapara with forest green micarta. I think that’s what it would take to displace my regular kapara with the RGT python micarta scales I put on it. Add a linerlock and you may have just made my dream spydie. I wouldn’t turn it down with a liner lock but I am r...
