im excited a out the new coatings. dlc has a great ability to resist corrosion better than satin blades but they also increase drag. plus lowered cost is nice to hear. with larger models dlc option can add $30-50. really interesting stuff. excited to learn more! https://madcustomcoating.com/mad-bla...

Re: My SE Endura wharnie project.

I put the scales on with the black hardware and honestly didn’t like it. It made the action horribly stiff and I just didn’t like the look either. It didn’t comer out like I had in my mind so I just put it back to all black. Plus the clip screws won’t reach the liners with the micarta scales. So I ...

Re: My SE Endura wharnie project.

Thank you everybody! I’m super excited to get the black hardware and micarta scales to have it all done and see what it looks like. It’s definitely less bulky in the pocket compared to the ultra wide (from spine to back of scales) factory profile. Did you get and install this stuff? I’d love to see...

Re: Storage Solutions

I have two harbor freight pelican style cases with the foam inside that are excellent for my storage purposes. I have one for knives and one for flashlights. They are very convenient for travel. Maybe not the best value for long term storage tho

Re: 2023 - Did your preferences change or stay the same?

What changed for me is my weight limit for a folder increased because now the pants I wear are more manly. Also I really honed in on my exact folder preferences. Spyderco, backlock, g10, full liners are my favorite. I love the look, sound, feel, and robustness. Still like other options like frn but ...

Re: Military 2 Discussion (Merged)

A fun little family set I have put together. Not sure that my favorite isn't the oldest design however they are all terrific knives. I like this visual! Seems like the mil2 is much sleeker than the 1? I think just the rear end of the handle is - ? A thing I actually prefer in the "2", whi...

Re: Define the different size categories FOR YOU

There's been a lot of talk in different threads about this lately, so why not put the discussion in a dedicated thread? Personally, I like how Cold Steel sizes their recon series The Recon 1 Series is available with 2, 3, 4, and 5 ½ inch blades Micro is 2" blade. It's tiny knife for me. Mini i...

Re: Browsing through the product guide: The two middle ground models that are still missing imo

I dunno guys. These are knives, not shoes. They don’t need to come in a million sizes. Natives come in 2.5”, 3”, and 4” (if you don’t consider the Shaman a Native family member). I would argue that is just fine. I would rather Spyderco focus on innovative models rather than making every combo of si...
