A guy can dream, right? Manix 2 XLT!

The "T" stands for "Thick". I'd LOVE to see a Manix 2 XL (or even a regular Manix 2) with a blade thickness closer to that of the Shaman, maybe even a little thicker. It would be the ultimate hard-use knife.

Who's with me?

Manix 2 XL SE - Is it possible?

I'd love a fully serrated Manix (plain or XL). I know they have the combo blade for the standard sized Manix (though I'd love to see one on the XL too!) Is this possible? Has it happened before? Personally (and I know this is a huge pipe dream) I'd love to see SE and combo options on all of their mo...

Re: You’re all sneaky keeping the REC manix 2 to yourselves

I might pick one up and throw copper scales on it or something.... We'll see. I'm not a fan on that blade color.

Re: You’re all sneaky keeping the REC manix 2 to yourselves

Those scales are screaming for a DLC blade! I've had this version of the PM2 for a few weeks a couple years back, I just couldn't warm up to that blade finish. Too weird looking for me, even had a tint of a pinkish hue to it in certain lighting, at least to my eyes. Feels like one step away from so...

Re: BHQ Shaman M4 Assembly QC issues?

To me, out of adjustment is definitely not a quality problem. I love getting a knife that I have to tinker with to make perfect for ME. Honestly, if there was a “ship disassembled” option, I’d check that box every time. :winking-tongue Laughs in parata. That thing was not fun to reassemble. Good lo...

Re: BHQ Shaman M4 Assembly QC issues?

I don't think anyone is missing your point. We've got the point hundreds of times over. What you don't seem to get is in manufacturing there are levels of tolerance for these sorts of things, you spent $200 on this knife not $2000, and what's really happening with these posts is busting the chops o...

Re: BHQ Shaman M4 Assembly QC issues?

You guys need to chill. This isn't a religious experience or anything. I paid over $200 for a knife that came with a wobbly blade. That's the point you're missing. Period, end of story. And you are making a lot of assumptions about my level of daily knife use. I will post what I want, and if you don...

Re: BHQ Shaman M4 Assembly QC issues?

Ya know what....to be completely blunt honest on this forum just for once... I am so sick of reading about the most trivial issues with knives that I often think about logging out and not coming back. It's getting so ridiculous. Every other day it's some BS about blade centering or blade play and t...

Re: BHQ Shaman M4 Assembly QC issues?

Thanks for sharing. The blade play on my Shaman is up and down in the direction of opening and closing. The tip moves 0,1 inch (3 mm). Centering is not the issue in this case. I hope you found a solution for the blade play as well. Much appreciated. Ohhhh gotcha, now I understand. Hmmm that could b...

Re: BHQ Shaman M4 Assembly QC issues?

Unfortunately i have massive blade play in my Z-wear Shaman. It is there closed and in any open position when not locked. Only when fully opened the blade play is gone. I have tried everything to correct it, but haven’t found the right solution yet. Therefor i am very curious about possible solutio...

Re: BHQ Shaman M4 Assembly QC issues?

You lost me at "YouTube research". Even if there are 50 videos pointing this out, your sample size is tiny. Keep in mind these knives are assembled by humans. Are you 100% perfect at your job 100% of the time? If it's just an assembly issue that you can and did fix and isn't a manufacturi...

BHQ Shaman M4 Assembly QC issues?

Hello, all... But particularly Spyderco staff: I received the BHQ exclusive M4 Shaman recently, and I wanted to point out a few issues. First, the good news: it is a beautiful masterpiece and it immediately became one of my favorites. As I normally do, I completely broke it down as soon as I receive...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Today I'm sporting the Manix 2 XL with its pretty new Putnam OD green scales (after a long weekend of carrying the BHQ exclusive shaman M4) and I'm also carrying my native 5 SE on my side pocket as a backup

On Flytanium's site, there is a "contact" link at the bottom which gets you to their email address. That seems like a good question to ask the company directly.
Why didn't I think of that? Great idea, thank you.

Re: Fradon Lock Elmax and CF Para 3 - 8/12 release date

This looks really good, I missed out on the PM2 version so I'm probably gonna buy this Para 3. To anyone who has experienced Spyderco's marbled CF before, what's your opinion? Well, Elmax is Elmax, not much to say about it. It's a super steel right up there with the best of the best. The marbled CF...

Hardware kits, and a word of warning...

Well, I got my new M4 BHQ Shaman today!! It's beautiful! I also got my putnam scales for my Manix2 XL. I bought a lanyard tube removal tool for the Manix/PM from Sharp Dressed Knives a while back and it works quite well.. though as I realized today, it also flares the end of the lanyard tube, making...
