I plan to do this with both a pair of Pac Salt 2s and a pair of PM2 Salts. I’ve also put Ti scales on an LC200N UKPK.
It’s a thing. Do it. Do it now!

I agree 100% with pretty much everything you said. I'd prefer a Salt, but anything would be an automatic buy.

Re: Partially Serrated CombinationEdge FRN Police Please? Anyone Else Want One??
Sure seems like combo edges were more popular 25 years ago. I used to purposely seek out combo edges, but eventually decided I wanted them one way or the other. Evolving uses, I guess.
That said, it does seem like the Police 4 would be one of the best candidates for CE.

Re: Nutritious safe low carb snacks?
Surprisingly, pork rinds of the Epic, Baken-Ets and Randall's Signature Select brands fill that niche for us. My wife is a health nut, and she's the one who introduced them to our pantry. Thanks for this. I tried the pork rinds and maybe I should give them another try. I had a bad experience since ...

Re: An ongoing mystery: Why still no ffg Manix 2 SE? (NOT meant as a complaint)
I have no interest in a serrated Manix 2 in any steel, but I still don't understand why there aren't any in the lineup. It seems obvious there should be at least one. Maybe they haven't wanted to introduce a new blade until the screwed CQI came out, or until the Salt release. My guess is it's just a...

Re: My first SLIPIT experience / Spyderco Urban
Nice review, Palestrina! (It's back.)
The Urban is one I've considered several times, and never quite pulled the trigger. If it's as good as my UKPKs, it looks like you've found yourself a nice knife.
And Tristan, I'm not a fan of cheap plastic either, but I absolutely love expensive plastic.

Re: Ikuchi, the best Spyderco folding filet knife?
I can see using the Ikuchi to fillet small fish if it's all you have and you have a way to wash the knife with fresh water soon afterward. To me it would be somewhat of a stunt, though. Sure, you could do it, but why, especially with the Catcherman still available. I've never done it so I can't spea...

Re: Native Chief Lightweight!!!
The MXG shallow carry clip will almost certainly work. It does on the Police. In my hand it's the most ergonomic clip available for several Spyderco knives: the whole Stretch family, the Manix 2, the Manix 2XL, the Police, the Endura family, maybe more. It's 2nd best to another MXG Gear clip for the...

Re: Question about lanyard holes.........
I only care about lanyard holes when they cause the pocket clip to be positioned awkwardly.
I had never considered using a fob to increase the visibility of a dark-colored knife, but I will from now on! My first will be safety green on a new Jumpmaster 2.

Definitely. The S35VN Resilience is one of my go-to knives. I would love it in M4.

I'd probably be interested, if it were a Salt. No non-Salt blade or hardware, please.
Edited to say I like your idea of introducing "it's about time" threads.

Re: Serrated Edge for Hunting?
I consider the Stretch 2 XL Salt PE to be the best folding hunter available for exactly the reasons you listed. It wouldn't occur to me to choose the SE over the PE for hunting, but I'm very interested in the results of your testing. My educated guess is that it'll work okay, but not as well as the ...

Re: Thin for the win. I'm back in.
I have no need at all for blade stock greater than 3.0 mm, 2.5 would be better for me in general, and much of the time 2.0 would be better yet. 2.0 mm is thin enough (and thick enough) for most of my uses, but sometimes I like even thinner. My favorite Spydercos for household use are the Chaparral a...

Re: Catcherman LC200N Sprint Run
I bought this OG Catcherman back in the mid-90s for, I believe, $49.95, and used the heck out of it for many years. It's easily my most abused knife, left in the tackle box or ice chest with saltwater and fish blood on it for months at a time. Action is still pretty good, and it sharpens up as well...
