Re: Another run of Whale Rescue Blade is needed.
I have to admit that I would love a 12 inch salt-series machete, but maybe separate from the Whale Rescue Blade. I’d buy both.

That's very cool! Thanks for sharing your expertise. I've worked support for whale researchers but I've never been involved in a rescue like that.

Re: Your thoughts on the MT leather sheath?
The mule team leather sheath is awesome. I’m biased in that I used roughly that style of sheath at work for years when I was sailing professionally. I tend to wear those on piece of rope that I just tie on over whatever else I’m wearing, so I can slide the knife around to wherever it’s most accessib...

I would definitely buy a few. I just missed them also and I've regretted not buying a couple when I had the chance. They would get a lot of use in my world!

I’d actually buy a PM2 if they made the new salt in a lefty version.

Re: Different knife different day, or one knife for life?
In theory, one knife for life, but in practice I’m a huge gear nerd and that certainly extends to knives. I enjoy tinkering with my systems, whether tools, edc, backpacking, work, sailing, or paddling. Consequently I’m constantly playing with different knives and other tools and bits of gear and con...

Re: new coating coming!
I’m always stoked about coated blades and I’m excited for the new ones. I’ve always been a little bummed that there aren’t more coated options in the salt line. Hopefully we’ll see some more!

A lil Native lightweight salt would be fantastic. Hopefully we get both satin and DLC options.

I’m always in favor of more salts. I’d buy a Lil and/or regular Matriarch in a salt. Or both.

The Bradford Guardian 5.5 is also excellent. I have the Elmax version but it comes in 3V normally.
Re: Swords!
When I was in college I had a really nice 16th century hand and a half sword that I picked up from Museum Replicas. That was a long time ago but it was really good quality and very capable as a user, if a bit impractical for the modern world. That was a hefty purchase for a poor college student but ...

I finally found a second Benchmade Nimravus. I picked one up a year ago when they were on closeout and it’s become one of my favorites ever. It just fits my hand incredibly well. I finally found a second one at Fradon Safe & Lock - my first time buying from them and they sure were nice folks!

Re: Best fixed blade replacement for the Ka-bar?
I hear that the Benchmade Nimravus has been popular with military folks for a while. I picked one up a year or so ago and it has become one of my favorites. It won’t replace the Aqua Salt for me but it’s one of my next most favorite knives for general outdoorsy stuff. The Fallkniven S1 is another on...

Re: Delica 4 in 2024?
I’m finally getting back to responding to the beginning of this thread. 🤷♂️ I could “walk away” with three knives. An Aqua Salt for outdoor stuff, a Pac Salt 2 for work, and a Salt 2/Delica for EDC. My usual grab and go knife in the morning was a native salt for my first couple of Spyderco years, t...

The Jumpmaster 2 in H2 is listed in this year’s product guide, so they should be available again at some point.
I can’t sing the Aqua Salt’s praises enough. It’s an awesome knife and was my first Spyderco. It’s definitely worth picking one up.

Re: What’s your favourite exclusive for future models?
I feel similarly, I like the St. Nick’s color combo but I only have their Jester - can we get it in a salt? Or at least a stainless? 🙂 The KnifeJoy 20CV Delica and Endura are my two most-carried non-salts (along with my Leafjumper) so I voted KnifeJoy. My absolute favorite, though, is the DLT ladybu...

Wartstein, that’s a great idea! I’ll have to smooth out the transition on one of my serrated PAC Salts and try it for food prep. Thanks!
