Re: Benchmade Bugout Omega Spring Failure

Clearly it is a problem. I don't know how big it is; I just know I can't think of another locking system that has more complaints.

Re: Benchmade Bugout Omega Spring Failure

I've handled one and it felt cheap to me. Yes, I know it's supposed to be lightweight. I have an old Gerber bolt action that is lightweight and is far more solid. I can't believe how much Benchmade charges for them. To me, it's a $50 knife at best.

Re: Benchmade Bugout Omega Spring Failure

When you consider how many locking systems exist, and compare it to the many widespread complaints over failures for axis spring breakage, I don't see how you can defend it. You may be willing to call it "no big deal" but it's a big deal to me....in fact it's a deal breaker. I'll stick to ...

Re: Benchmade Bugout Omega Spring Failure

I don't understand the axis' popularity. I've never seen another lock with so many problems yet they are almost universally downplayed as "no big deal". I have a Benchmade Emissary that I received as a gift and don't think much of it. I'd rather have a backlock variant or a compression loc...

I've seen examples of the zome pattern before, but thought it had to do with zombies.

Re: Recommend a Podcast

Mike Rowe's: "The way I heard it" is excellent. When it started, the first episodes talked about a famous personality from history. It's done in a way where you think he's talking about a current personality but then find out it was a person who lived long ago. It's really well done. It ha...

Re: Cleaning the sharpening rods

I use "Bar Keeper's Friend" soap. It comes in a can like Bon Ami. It does a good job on the ceramic rods from the Sharpmaker.

Re: Where's the ladybug & manbug exclusive love?

Sharp Guy: That is a regular production Manbug.
I wish I bought a few more Ladybugs with stainless handles. I have one but they're so great I wish I had a back up. I've searched on eBay and they almost never come up.
