Re: What's your interest in the VG XEOS mule?

I wanna say none. But I only had the description to go from.
If anybody knows more about this apparently new Hitachi steel, I'm all for it !

I usually like a lot of their steels.

Re: Reveal 15 - Live!

The K390 Stretch XL is an instant buy. I will make a sturdy body for it, or bladeswap into my Cruwear handle 😁

Some Carpenter steel is good to see too, I will buy a PD#1 knife, dunno which one (hope i wont end up with a gajillion of stretch XLs 😅)

Oh yeah, running to it !

EDIT : Not at all what I was expecting. Really exciting sprint runs but not what we were told at Amsterdam, I guess Reveal 16 will be called Reveal 15+1 !

Re: Fixing Lock Rock in Seki FRN lockbacks

Many years ago, I wanted an original Golden-made Native, but every one I handled in shops had blade play/lock rock. So I never bought one. This was maybe back in the late '90s or beginning of 2K. The current re-engineered Golden back lock is wonderful. I'm sure there are people who have experienced...

Re: Native 5 LW Weirdness (or not?)

I had this issue with one of mine, tightening the screw just beside the lockbar made the lockbar harder to move. I disassembled everything and then retightened everything, backing the responsible screw a bit whilz making sure to not loose it with some loctite. Disassembly would also show you if ther...

anything exclusive for europeans would be good and i'd buy it. Missed on Heinnie's stuff because Brexit, but Finland is definitely in the same thing we call the EU as us french people :open-grin

Re: What is the single best spyderco configuration you own?

Without changing anything it's a toss-up between the S90V Fluted CF Native 5 and Fluted Ti-Mil.

With customization, I guess it's my Stretch 2 XL Cruwear with UniGold fatcarbon :open-grin

Thanks to Omar Muñiz Alers on the Millie club for letting us know you can bladeswap/bodyswap the Myto and SpyMyto.
Still bummed about the blade geometry but this sure is exciting !

Fake Native 5 Lightweight

Be careful, I just found a listing on aliexpress for clearly fake N5 LWs. I had never seen that before. Seemes like making moulds is a trend for them now, after the Para 3 LW comes the N5 LW. https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005006968920475.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.1.a4acZmANZmAN46&algo_pv...

Re: Spymyto is hot!

Careful tightening down the clip. I've seen at least one report of it breaking. Apparently there isn't much material in the area around the screw. Not my pics: https://i.postimg.cc/85gzWfCh/image.png How little material is there: https://i.postimg.cc/NMxBHNSc/image.png The one person I've seen take...

Re: Spymyto is hot!

[I accidentally posted this in the "What did you use your Spyderco for last" thread earlier, but I meant to post it here so I guess I will now] The factory edge came hair whittling sharp, but the overall geometry made this a frustrating experience: https://i.ibb.co/ZTRxpB8/20240507-062524...

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?

I just thought about this but I would love for an anniversary knife to sport the colors of the current Spyderco boxes. Red black and gold is great !

Engraving the inside of the Spydie hole would be cool, I don't know if it's even possible.

Re: Which one should I get next?

Since you have some Golden, Seki and China made spydercos I'd go towards a Taïchung (Taïwan) made Spyderco :open-grin You seem to have bought mostly work horses that don't necessarily allow much fidgeting. I'd go towards a Gayle Bradley 2, Chaparral or Watu (if you can still find it) ! Otherwise, Na...

Re: Why is the Kapara so overlooked ?

My guess is that pricing must be in for something too. It's 3D contoured and all, but in Europe it's around 280€. Even if some of us won't go towards chinese made knives, at this price range the propositions from the competitions have even more premium materials and blade steels (even if blade steel...

Re: Native 5 Salt Yellow FRN MagnaCut HRC?

As far as I can tell we only have HRC for the Mules since several people tested them back then. Spyderco never announced any HRC range so we would need someone to test them.

One thing : I can feel a difference in sharpening the Mules and the N5 MagnaCut

Re: Spymyto is hot!

The huge gap between the lock bar and the scale really bothers me for some reason. The Drunken and a few other models also have a wide gap, as does the Lionsteel Myto. I don’t understand the purpose of cutting them like that, especially when I’ve seen other models from Spyderco and other manufactur...

Re: Spymyto is hot!

Since the Myto is hollow my guess is that lionSTEEL tried to do hollow on M398 and saw that it was too brittle or too expensive to grind and changed to flat. Still interested in receiving mine when they hit Europe to see how it cuts ! Expensive? Maybe. Brittle? Definitely not. I'm sure spyderco wou...
