"Dragonfly 2 Pin"---What does "Pin" signify?

This is probably so simple I'm gonna be embarrassed I asked, but here goes: on the Dragonfly 2 box (C28PBK2), the upper right corner of the label has "Dragonfly 2 Pin". What does "Pin" signify?

Thanks very much.

As for not carrying a knife any longer, I would disagree. You are obviously a knife guy, like all of us here, and it is part of your identity. You could certainly go with some smaller and lighter choices, but I say keep a handful to carry. Carrying no knife at all for a knife guy is like walking aro...

Nice job, Charlie. Image

So, do you like that DMT aligner? Do they sell a kit with the stones all the way from XC to XF?

Cheers,

For routine sharpening/touch-ups, I like easy. And for me, that's doing it at 30 degrees inclusive, and sometimes adding a few final light strokes with the blade turned in just slightly toward the rods. That way, I don't even have to change the rods from the 30 degree slots to the 40 degree slots. A...

I like my Urban FG (leaf)---small, light, and deep wire clip. If I want something very thin and light, but with enough blade to still be useful, I take my A.G. Russell 3.0 Titanium Lockback: http://www.agrussell.com/ag-russell-3-0-titanium-lockback-folder/p/RUShhhP73TI/ A.G.'s pic doesn't do it just...

lol, you must only cut paper or arm hair with it and think it's sooo sharp. well, I use scissors for paper and a razor for shaving. @jackknifeh no steel should chip out from cutting cardboard. certainly not a so called "super steel". I don't care what bevel it has on either side. but, tha...

Thanks again for all the inventive suggestions and ideas. I'm actually having pretty good luck. The knife itself (FRN, btw), obviously the most important part of the deal, has reacted well to pretty simple stuff---just more scrubbing with soap & water, Lysol, rubbing alcohol, and lemon juice, pl...

Thanks very much to all. The amount of knowledge on this forum, and the generosity with which it is shared, always amazes me. I am going to soldier on, first trying the items I have at hand, and go from there. I will report my results in hopes of helping anyone else who finds himself in this situati...

Removing Cigarette Smoke Odor from Spydie?

I recently came into possession of a very nice Spydie that has one problem---I suppose the previous owner was a smoker, because the knife, the box, etc., arrived with a very strong cigarette smoke odor. So far, I've tried Lysol, soap and water scrubbings, lemon juice, and several hours in the fresh ...

Chuck,

Very nice pics. They whet my appetite---I've got one of these en route, thanks to one of our esteemed forum brothers.

What system did you use to get your 24 degree inclusive edge---Edgepro?

Great tutorial, pics, and videos, Ken. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/grinser/grinning-smiley-003.gif So, did you keep the grind even on both sides just by counting strokes, or was there some other method? I am going to take a "baby step" as soon as one of my black clips shows some chip...

Ken, thanks for the advice. If I'm reading you correctly, even if I'm just knocking off the shoulder on one side (of an "uneven" blade), I should continue to hit the edge on the other side.

Thanks,

Andrew

Or you can keep on the course with the Sharpmaker and the vertical blade and reprofile the edge so that you have the same angle on both sides. This can be done by honing only the side that has the odd angle, but I would continue on both sides to keep your edge centered...and hopefully your bevels w...

Great heritage on that knife, thanks for telling the story. Your photos are also terrific.

I am also a big fan of both Bark River and Spyderco---two exceptional knife families, with many great traditions and many loyal followers.

Hotels in Downtown L.A.?

If any of my friends here happen to know anything about hotels in L.A., I would appreciate some advice. We are going to be there in May for our son's graduation from USC. We would like to stay somewhere comfortable, but moderately priced (we'll be there 4-5 nights). I am told that most of the decent...

Thanks,
