Re: Mule Team Subscription maybe?
Hi Notfixingit, If I understand the goal is to get some type of assurance that you can get one or two? Ideally, we would have one or two pieces for everyone that wanted one. Adding more "time" to the project is not preferred. As Jack said, I like to keep things simple. We keep listening t...

Re: Knife lubricant
Oh no...I baked it into a few fixed blades and then let it cool and got it as dry as I can get it. I haven't sat them in the sun to see what happens. I also put it on the blades of a Rex45 Millie & NChief, hopefully it doesn't liquify to the point that it gets in my pocket. I'll obviously have ...

Re: FRN Take Over...
Ergos can be very dependent on a person's hand though making things difficult for manufacturers, I agree the PDP is way more ergonomic than a Glock, the HK VP9L for example is more ergonomic at least to me because I have large thumb muscle in my palm and on the PDP it puts my shot slightly left. I ...

Re: FRN Take Over...
Looking at a cross section of my Spydercos below, it seems to me that G-10 or FRN, they are all pretty slab-ish. Most of the contouring on the FRN is to break edges and add texturing, which is value added, but it's not like there is a huge difference in the shape of most Spyderco FRN scales and G-1...

Re: Knife lubricant
I think most of the liquid 'wet' oils are going to perform pretty comparably; and we saw that in the friction chart I posted earlier, where most of the wet oils are pretty similar to one another. For me the biggest differentiator is between Wet vs Dry lubricants, and whether these also provide a ru...

Re: Knife lubricant
I had resisted for a long time, but I have become a big fan of Frog Lube when actually heated and applied properly. Especially for corrosion prevention and for a gun lube. For folders, fishing reel oil has treated me very well. I too use frog lube on guns but unfortunately on knifes I had an issue ...

Re: Rivers Edge Cutlery Upcoming Exclusive
I work nights and will probably miss out on it as with previous runs in this color (which i really really love). Wish they would post date and time, by the time I wake up and see the emails they are always OOS. Hope this time will be different!

Knife Pivot Lube (on washers), or Nano-Oil - NanoLube (5w - 10w depending) although living in a dusty desert environment, certain knifes that I use specifically for dusty tasks, I use none on.

Re: Para 3 lock stick fix?
A little bit of Knife Pivot Lube (or 10w NanoLube) on the detent or just sitting on the couch watching netflix opening/closing it for a bit is what I've found to fix the issue

Mule Team Subscription maybe?
Ok so maybe a horrible idea, maybe not... How about a Mule Team Subscription? Yearly fee that makes you a "Mule Team Member" or something, that just entitles you to be able to reserve/pay for a Mule Team before it's released? This would allow Spyderco to know which runs should have a highe...

Re: eBay is crazy
I think the problem is there's a large group of people now that just order multiples of sprint runs etc or just buy one with the intent to gouge people that actually want the knife. I've watched one guy on ebay list a sprint run pm2 and sell 7 of them now for $350-400 when it originally was $179.. g...

Re: FRN Take Over...
Dear notfixingit: Welcome to the Spyderco Forum. The properties of G-10 and FRN are very different. For knives that have full stainless steel liners, it's not an issue. For knives that are purpose-designed around lightweight handles--like the Para 3 Lightweight--it's much more complicated than simp...

Re: MT29P - Mule Team Featuring Z-Max PM Release Info!
I think I"m hooked now after playing with the Z-Max, can't wait for the next one either! Had no idea I liked playing with the different steels until I started buying different sprint runs and mules.

Re: New Shaman clip from Lynch Northwest
So, which finish will match the CS Shaman and the Micarta Z? Stonewashed? Satin to match the blade is probably the most stylish but I went for the bronze for my zwear shaman. For the CS shaman I would go for stonewashed or black cerakote (not available right now). FYI, spoke to Casey, the cerakote ...

Re: Where to get a replacement pivot screw for PM2?
Pacific Sons on Etsy sells titanium PM2 hardware that ships from California, I haven't tried their screws but the lanyard tube and deep carry clip they sold me fit perfectly. https://www.etsy.com/shop/PacificSons Thanks for the link! Just ordered a set of these for a Para 3 whose pivot screw is jus...

Re: I love the compression lock... and so does my non-knife-person friend.
I have to agree, I love the compression lock and ball-bearing/axis style (manix 2) and all my lock back or frame locks have started to collect dust in my edc rotation. Although I will say the ball-bearing/axis don't make my rotation on days where I might get gunk in it, had sticky sand completely ke...
