The native chief has a super-pronounced tip…good for piercing if you do a lot of that as part of bait prep. The salt stretch kind of speaks for itself. It’s one of the greatest 4” knives ever conceived but in salt form.

I’m tip up for everything but the Millie family. I’ve tried tip down for the endura, stretch and a few others but it just never felt right. So nearly everything is tip up. A chappy in k390 or cruwear would be an absolute laser beam.

That’s not to say that the xhp variants aren’t. I love mine…but man oh man. That blade stock with a steel that comes up effortlessly aggressive and hangs onto its front end sharpness. That would be unreal.

There’s probably a generational component to consider when answering this question The models that are the most widespread are probably the Delica, PM2 and Tenacious.
