Re: Stretch XL discussion

I got one on order, love the serrated edge and size , the straight spine well POOP :pleading I saw a YouTube influencer make a comment on the change to straight spine “ the stretch is just a updated endura now “ hopefully the stretch 2 will continue with blade shape and add a steel or two ( cru , M4...

Re: Where does the steel come from?

Edit to add: After reviewing more of OP's posts, it's probable that it's their method of conducting themselves and overall forum demeanor that have gained them their abdicable attention. It is a pretty odd thing to do, show up and demand answers about a product you clearly aren’t buying and then go...

Re: Need help: Remedying gritty action on stainless steel Endura (no disassembly, no screws at all!)

did you try rinsing it? :rofl sorry. i don't have any other advice, but it's entertaining seeing the same advice given over and over after you said you already tried it and it didn't work. Yep, only one thing is using a pipe resin cleaner soaked in 3:1 oil , then blast with air/ keyboard spray, onl...

Stretch 2 clone

Don’t know how to post a picture, but my uncle went gambling in Macau, and brought me back a stretch 2 as a gift, only problem is it has a axis lock and g10 scales., a weird thing is the steel This thing might be M390(BÖHLER SPECIAL STEELS (SHANGHAI) CO., LTD.) , it has a eagle on the blade. Came in...

Re: Need help: Remedying gritty action on stainless steel Endura (no disassembly, no screws at all!)

... .... but the lock bars are sometimes rough and sometimes they only contact the tang part way and they can even start to dig scratches into the tang over time.... Thanks again! Yeah, I know what you mean, had this on one ore two backlocks, but just to a slight degree so it did not bother me. But...

It’s really not in a working class price range for its weight and price, kinda in the CRK status symbol area. :-||

Re: Need help: Remedying gritty action on stainless steel Endura (no disassembly, no screws at all!)

I think the oil has to be thick enough to hold the particles in suspension, at least long enough to float them out of the action. Super penetrating oils won't do that, but they do help removing other contaminates. It’s the PSI from the spray when used with the spray tube, brake cleaner will blow it...

Try some PB blaster penetration oil , with blade 1/2-2/3 open lock bar open and blast it clean
Works for me in the Texas desert and beach

Re: Stretch XL discussion

I am thinking $115 to $120 price range like a plain police 4. No need to speculate on pricing, $112.35 at BladeHQ. I have to say, that's less than I was expecting. And certainly less than I'm expecting the Chief FRN to go for. And in case anyone wondered what the SE looks like: ... Man, even the se...

Re: Sharpening shortens lifespan

Thanks for your explanation, I will resort to this every time I need sharpening. You are welcome. Let me also suggest one last time: You could try out sharpening on a cheap(er) knife at first. Just seeing how the process works is the sole area were a cheap gas station knife could even have an advan...

Re: Where does the steel come from?

My take on most the steels used is the key is having the quality control in place to assure that the client is what getting is what they paid for at the steel manufacturers level. Clearly if it’s a more basic steel (52100 or O1 or A2) the batch has to be to spec but the low alloy nature makes it a ...

Scandi edge is basically designed to be sharpen on a rough boat ride yes ? No? I would think that is a wheel house spyderco wouldn’t want to go into, what steel ? H1 or LC200n? Vg10? Moraknif does a good job with scandi IMO , $12 and you can baton them , $25-55 Gets stainless wood mall scandi edge t...

Re: Sharpening shortens lifespan

I sharpen a LOT and hate any knife remotely dull. I carry a Spyderco Double stuff, diamond cards,m and a pocket strop in my briefcase for that reason. That said, this FRN generation 1 Endura has been used and sharpened a lot by me (mostly using the gen 1 sharp maker I bought with it!) since it’s pu...

Re: Removing the clip

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I don't have a Torx unfortunately, and ordering will take 2 weeks. Can I use something else to remove the screw? Also, will it be enough to remove only the two screws that hold the clip to remove the clip? I don't need to put them back? (Will it affect the pocket knife in...

Hey amigo send me your chap and any other spyderco and I’ll send you a box cutter and a case of razor blades, or buy a Byrd knife and watch some YouTube videos and learn how to sharpen a knife, knife sharpening is a trial and error, with no short cuts

Re: S30V - how well does your Spyderco battle corrosion

Anyone who says S30v and vg10 rust in their pocket has pure muriatic acid sweat or is going out of their way to mess with it.
I am constantly trying to patina with blood and fruit my vg10 endura and my uncle has a S30v bug out and nothing, even harsh agriculture sprays don’t really mess with it
