Re: Watu spring tension
Not even a week. The Watu is not the most beautiful and shapely knife, but I love "the package". It is quite comfortable when using it. I've cut 1x2 pine stick and no pain happened. The 20CV is sharpened so very well. The thin handle is also a plus. ;) Don't tell anyone but I've lessened ...

Re: More Bolt-action locks please
Here is the actual patent (with great mechanical diagrams) that breaks it down. It's my favourite Spyderco lock, it's incredibly strong and once broken in a bit you can use the traditional 'pinch' or use a single finger to operate it. I really hope we see more of it in the future beyond the two mod...

Re: Best Value - Manix 2, Native 5, Para 3
Not one to get too deep into these debates, but sometimes I make mistakes… used a plastic handled Kershaw doing construction for 5 years, Monday - Friday, 8 hours a day. I doubt it was any stronger than Spyderco’s FRN and the handle was never the problem. Still have that knife in fact, it got retir...

Re: More Bolt-action locks please
I'm a fan of the bolt-action lock. Just wondering if it can be made with a more favorable edge to handle configuration and no choil and less tall than the CBBL. How dissimilar is the bolt action to the CBBL? It is odd that there are not more bolt action or CBBL models. And speaking of edge to handl...

Re: Watu spring tension
That's interesting JSumm. One too strong, one too soft. I tend to lean towards back locks now. And the CBBL on the Manix due to its strong tendency to want to stay closed. I also have the Kapara from Taiwan. It has the strongest detent of any compression lock I have had. I actually prefer that one....

Re: Watu spring tension
I would rather have the stronger detent. My Watu is too weak. In fact, I don't carry it often because it came open in my pocket multiple times. How hard is it to pinch the blade towards the tip when closed an open it up? Doesn't take much pull for mine to open. I have noticed something about the sha...

Re: DLT black & red zome Endela dropping Sept. 14
There are a lot of these and the first Endela left. I can't help but think that if they would have done the Endela in the OD Green/TiCN Cruwear combo it would have sold out in a week or two just like the Delica and Dragonfly. Zome (and smooth G10 for any dealers reading this) seem to kill exclusive...

Re: Mid-sized Native?
I understand that the Chief will still be too long for you then, but there will be a lightweight option (linerless FRN instead of linerless G10, just as it is with the Native 5 and Native 5 LW). Assuming no new model in the mid-sized range, a lightweight Chief would definitely peak my interest. The...

Re: Mid-sized Native?
I am looking for mid-sized backlock from Golden. Decided against the Native. The handle was too small if not using the choil. The Chief was too large when using the choil (a lot of handle) and there is no lightweight option. I think a mid-size in this very good series would be just right. I underst...

Re: Problems with k390 Spyderco knives
I wonder if it is a recent trend to speed up production. My K390 Endela I got a year ago was great, but my recent DLT Exclusive Endela was pretty uneven on the edge grind. Personally, if anything was off on a knife this is the easiest to correct with a reprofile which most of us will do anyway. It i...

Re: Pm3 vs manix 2 (warehouse knife)
I really prefer wharnies for this type of work so I'd look into the Salt 2 wharncliffe or something along those lines, I carry an Autonomy 1 a lot for work and often use it a lot harder than I did in warehouse work. Yes! My Rock Jumper is my most used "Project/Work" knife. The wharncliffe...

Re: Best Value - Manix 2, Native 5, Para 3
Are there any other knives that are considered really good values that I should be considering for my EDC rotation? The Endela, Endura, and Straight Spine Stretch are all great knives and great values! I have had all of the popular USA Made models, but the Seki models are my favorites and all I own...

Re: Let's talk about cutting edge vs blade length
Yes it is a smart design. This is a good reason to harp on Sal to get the leaf bladed Rockjumper out. That has an edge all the way to handle. An XL version would be even better. Cutting edge rules, but sometimes I do need something longer or something easier to hold on to. Yes please on the leaf bl...
