Re: Spyderco Shaman excessive blade play with skinny scales
Yes, exactly. The pivot screws were both just about a thread too long each. I shaved each one down with a file, shortening them and causing them to clamp down tighter, also pulling the scales and liners closer together. This fixed my blade play problem perfectly. I tried swapping the pivot screw fr...

Re: Spyderco Shaman excessive blade play with skinny scales
When you say shaved down, you mean shortening the length of the pivot screws, thereby allowing the scales to clamp down closer together? Is the idea that the pivot screws were bottoming out at each other? I ask because I have a bit of side to side play after changing my Shaman scales.

Re: The Magnacut Paramilitary 2
I was looking the liners and they seem a bit different than the standard PM2. Do you think aftermarket scales like flytanium will fit without modification on the magnacut PM2 just released? I saw the question posted early but there was not a clear answer.

Re: The Magnacut Paramilitary 2
Mine was a little tight in the pivot on arrival but I’ve learned to leave it alone and it’ll loosen with use. Sure enough, it’s smoothed out over the past week and has great action now. That’s been my experience with a lot of coated blades and I’ve come to expect it. My Magnacut PM2 actually has a ...

Re: SALT Liners
The peel ply is pretty rough on the jeans pocket IMO. Curious as to what other think. There are *very few* new knives anymore that I would actually like to purchase someday in the future. I say "someday," because if I ever do purchase another knife, it won't be anytime soon. The PM2 Salt i...

SALT Liners
As I look admiring at my most recent Salt knife addition, I got curious about the liners. Much is said about the blade material, e.g, Magnacut, LC200N, but less is said about the liners. Except "fearless corrosion resistant" and "marine-grade". Since S90V and many others are cons...

The PM2 BlackSalt Magnacut (Reveal) was for sale yesterday. Sold out now. I do not think the availability was widely known.

Re: Handle Scale Vendors
I just purchased some carbon fiber shaman scales from flytanium so I will report back. This will be my first time doing anything to any Spyderco knife. There are plenty of videos online so how tough can it be?! The current action on my Shaman is a bit stiff so I hope to get some nice scales on it an...

Re: Spymyto is hot!
I think its peculiar that the blade thickness of the SpyMyTo is .157inches! Design wise I would not expect it. In comparison the military grade Military 2 is .145in. So is the PM2. The Manix 2 and XL are just .125. The Shaman is even .145. I wonder why that decision was made unless to save on cost? ...

Although I did not participate, acknowledging the website problem was needed and appreciated. To say it is not needed, that is being too polite. Scaling a website requires some pre planning. Now you have the data, so next time the experience should be fun for everyone!

Re: 15V Shaman!
My lock is super tight too. It takes two hands to close the blade: even when I fully release the lock, I have to push the blade back to overcome the stick. This is contrast to my PM2 which has impressive action. For someone that has never taken apart a Spyderco knife, what steps in order would you r...

After Market Titanium Ti Scales for Shaman that maintain contours?
Subject says it all. Any recommendations for under $200 for after-market Shaman scales that maintain contours in titanium or carbon fiber. But prefer Ti! I would like the scales to represent the contours of the original Shaman scales. No compromises or none noticeable:)
Thanks!
Thanks!

It is my favorite Spyderco so far. And by far! I have a PM2, Birdseye Chapparal and a Native 5 Carbon. If there is a SpydieChef 2, I am in.

Re: I hate my pocket knife.
I can totally relate to the point of this thread. For me it's the Autonomy 1 that has ruined other knives for me and it's the yardstick that all others are measured against. Any other knife I use is out of curiosity and just for fun regardless of how good they are. If it hits the fan and I can only...

Re: Mystery Knife Center exclusive coming 6/23 (S90V/burlap micarta Shaman)
Have there been burlap micarta knifes before from Spyderco? Can anyone share their observations on the differences between burlap and say the micarta on the PM2 and the Shaman Z wear on a year or so ago.

Re: What should be the next Cruwear/Micarta Golden Model? (Hopefully regular production)
I voted Shaman since it is a very popular knife and it would be nice to buy it directly from Spyderco.
The Manix gets my second vote but there was no second vote option!
