Re: Native Chief Lightweight!!!
The MXG non deep carry clip is longer than a Spyderco clip and may well be the solution if you are willing to go after-market. I have one and will try it when my Chief LW arrives and can report back. Dan Thank you! https://i.postimg.cc/MHZTRj5g/IMG-20240503-173958-MP-2.jpg Works perfectly and falls...

Re: Native Chief Lightweight!!!
I am hoping once the clip length issue is brought to the attention of Spyderco, they will produce a longer clip... ? I think the best option is to have someone make a custom titanium clip if you really want this knife. Or some permanent modification of the knife. I'm opting to get rid of it and buy...

Re: Chief vs Stretch XL for fishing knife?
So wanted to hear some input on this. I’ve been completely enamored with the Stretch XL since I first saw the prototype at the Blade show a few years ago. Wonderful design and IMHO a more refined design than any of the previous Stretches. I didn’t need any more VG10 in my life but i said from the b...

Re: Native Chief Lightweight!!!
Like others here I have been waiting for either Magnacut or SPY27 but REC had the all black DLC PE for $101 on the tax day sale and I couldn't resist. Being in Australia I won't see it for a couple of weeks but I sure am looking forward to it!

Re: Lil' Temp 3 & Short Thick Blades
The blade of the Lil' Temp 3 is thick but because it is so tall it actually has an identical primary grind angle to the Native 5 or Chief so is a good slicer. It also has about the same edge length as a Manix 2 but with a significantly more robust tip. One way to think of it is a heavy duty alternat...

Re: Experienced Serrated Edge K390 users wanted.
Thanks @Brock O Lee! That does look more effective. Honestly, I am not too worried about it. The reprofile that is. A little here and there and always more time with a courser abrasive should mean eventually it will be reprofiled. I actually ended up with that mindset with VG-10 and H2 as well last...

Re: Native Scout?
I for one really hope the 3.5" Native comes to pass and I'd certainly buy it. Saying there is no place for a Native this size between the Native 5 and Chief is surely the same as saying there is no place for the PM2 between the Para 3 and the Military?

Re: Shaman w/ XHP & Black Micarta
Huh, strange mix of characteristics. After looking over some info, the only thing that I can think might edge it over some of it's competition (unintentional pun there) would be if it sharpened easier than more stainless options, but I haven't seen anything that suggests it does. It can get pretty ...

Re: Triangle rods vs new Profile Stones as travel sharpeners
The triangle stones work fine but I worry about breaking them. I have used a Double Stuff 2 since they came out and I love it. In my work I spend a couple of months every year camping and working in remote areas so I do plenty of field sharpening. I carry both plain edge and serrated knives and the ...

Re: Knife that screams liner lock got the compression lock - why?
I have the Wolfspyder and thanks to a good buddy now also the Rhino. The compression lock closing does not work well because of double detent (Wolf) and missing blade mass (Rhino). The ergos scream liner lock. My thumb always wants to engage the non existing liner because its naturally falls in thi...

Re: Recommendations for a European traditionalist
... As Wartstein said, our minister of interior affairs just announced they are working on a bill to restrict knives basically the same way as Germany or the UK does, so if this bill should pass it's going to be a UK PK or Lil Native Slipit anyways :) .... Man, we can´t let that happen! This is not...

Re: Caribbean Adjustment?
Update (if you’re interested): I returned the Caribbean. I dropped the knife on my living room carpet and it came open. Not a knife I can see on a boat or in a camping environment. You’re on the bow of the boat and it falls and slides to the back while open? You’re rigging something overhead at a c...

Re: Delica 4 in 2024?
The base PM steel Spyderco uses is CTS BD1N or BD1, sometimes. BD1 and BD1N are still ingot steels. The average person can get a nice edge on vg-10 with what they already own. Compared to how many complaints there are floating around on the Internet that D2 is "hard, difficult, impossible"...

Re: Looking for thoughts on Caly 3.5 vs. GB2
I have both of these and I couldn't think of two more different knives. The Caly 3.5 is smaller and much more concealable but is really flimsy compared to a GB2. Mine has terrible lock rock, to the point of I have lent it to non-knife people and they have asked me what is wrong with it. The GB2 has ...

Re: Brouwing a Better Brouwer
having just recently handled a brouwer again, i have to say it's such a nice little knife. it feels like a distinguished gentleman's bushcraft folder. if i were to change anything, i would just make it about 10-20% larger in every dimension but thickness. it would be really great if it had more cut...
