Re: SE MagnaCut Testing Thread
How's the SE Native's holding up within the forum members? I've only had mine a little over a month but I'm impressed so far. I have a number of Seki Salts in both H1 and LC200N and the Magnacut N5 is superior in a number of respects. Firstly it is much more acutely ground - under 15° - so no repro...

Love the knife, hated the colour.
Dark green over the yellow. Turned out a bit lighter than expected but I like it.

Re: “Best” steels video with Larrin
Enjoy the video. Only I cant agree that S30V and M390 are in the same category. M390 have much better edge retention in my use than S30V.Tried both in mulptile knives with same results. So M390 as a high edge retention steel. Lc200N is my favourite balance steel. Edge retention better than VG10/ S3...

Re: Tips for Restoring a super pointy blade tip
Right out of the box, all my spydercos have come with a super pointy / pierce-y tip. They go right into thin plastic, bags, and clam shells so you can begin the slice without trouble. Over time, use, sharpening, bumps, and god forbid drops, blunt it in my experience, and makes initial penetration m...

K390 Straight Spine Stretch. I have been using K390 and S90V in the field and they are both great but when rust isn't an issue I favour the K390.

And of course harder = more brittle. One user here reports their m390 Manix 2, noted on youtube for being 62+ hrc, will chip "just by being looked at." One of our beloved youtube influencers, while bragging that a 62 HRC m390 spyderco is what m390 is supposed to be like, also casually men...

Re: Chaparral
Man all this Chap talk is making me want one…always thought that thin lock bar access would get old real fast, but I recently got a Centofante 3 and it’s thin but not uncomfortable at all 🤔 The Centofante has 2.5 mm blade stock , the Chap 2.00. I am pretty sure this will be true for the lockbars to...

Re: Fixing Lock Rock in Seki FRN lockbacks
Hey Everyone, Just an update I seem to have found a solution. I installed an aftermarket flytanium backspacer for my endura 4 and that seems to have for the most part stopped the lock-rock issue. The action now feels more stiff so I will have to take another look. I had a similar experience. I boug...

Re: I have a confession. I don't like N690
I'd have to say the edge holding of the N690 in my Pattada seems a bit better than any of my many VG10 blades and it's just as easy to sharpen. Fit and finish of that one is perfect too. As good as any of my Taichung models. That's the only Spyderco N690 I have though so maybe I just got lucky.

Re: bright handles for the win
I really dislike bright handles that advertise the presence of the knife in your pocket. I try to only buy knives that have earth tone or black handles. I don't own a Carribbean or any Rex45 for this reason. Rex45 would probably be a favourite steel for me but I just couldn't come at the orange hand...

Re: Anyone know why the A.T.R. was discontinued?
Talkin' Story; Some history. When I first designed the original ATR, ( A t T he R eady), which actually took quite a while to refine, my plan was to present it to Glock to be used as their official Glock knife. Probably more "hope" than actual. I was really all about myself and thought it...

Re: Best Spyderco for Backpacking
I used a Siren for a backpacking trip earlier in the year. Less than an ounce heavier than the Pac Salt 1 I would normally carry and a bit more substantial. I didn't do anything more challenging than food prep and a little woodwork but really enjoyed carrying and using it. I think it's what I'll be ...

Re: Big Belly Blades
I seem to be the opposite of most people here. I find little use for my wharnies and always gravitate to blades with some belly. I hate the point always being in the way when I go to cut something. The point of a Manix, Pac Salt, Endura, Delica are all right at the margin of being too low for me. Th...
