Re: What's your LEAST favorite of all your favorites?

Current collection (Tenacious LW and UpTern are leaving very soon, so I'm excluding them) is in my signature, and I'd have to say the Pingo as well. In hand, I'd say the UKPK is the best slipjoint Spyderco makes, and the SpyDK is also a better overall "Denmark-legal" knife than the Pingo -...

I know that reissuing Mules is not a thing, but if Spyderco wanted to make it a thing for a few select steels... Magnacut, please!!!
I wonder if it could be for the straight-spine ones like the SPY27 (which is a re-issue) :thinking

Re: Your Magna Cut Mule performance.

This is pretty insane. Would be interesting to see if the relative performance difference can be replicated with a CATRA test in a more controlled environment. I think Petes' videos are always worth watching, but if you don't have time, here is the TL;DR: Using a Magnacut Mule with a dual grit sharp...

Re: Pick One Spyderco for last knife.

My heart says Chaparral, but my brain knows that a non-LW Manix 2 would be more versatile. Of the currently available steels, I'd probably choose XHP due to its' balance of toughness, edge retention and corrosion resistance; Magnacut is another option, but the LW variant isn't my first choice and I'...

Re: Manix G10 and LW blades identical?

FRN does feel cheap, but it's a surprisingly durable composite, particularly for how light it is. Carbon fiber, in my opinion, is similar in that it feels cheap, but the actual properties of the material are stronger than it seems. Given its' hype, I suspect Magnacut will be making it to most their top selling knives over time.

Re: Show your mods!

I recently picked up some AWT Agent Linerless scales and put them on my Manix 2 in CPM-20CV -- absolutely loving them! I also have the OCD4EDC bearing cage and lighter spring mod. https://i.imgur.com/6IUG3g6.jpg They're aluminum and provide a nice weight reduction (the whole knife weighs 98g; by com...

Re: 2023 Spyderco Product Guide - Now Live!

Does anyone know if this is taking the place of the Reveal that typically happens at this time of year (which I'm assuming would come around SHOT)?

There were obviously a few new/returning products announced in this catalog: Janisong, UKPK Magnacut, etc., but probably less than a typical Reveal.

No Spydie yesterday (carried a CIVIVI Baklash in 154CM), but I plan on carrying my Chaparral in Blue Stepped Ti today (carried it on Christmas too).

Re: Curious, whats everyone's edc backpack?

I've been working from home since the pandemic started, so I don't really have a ton of use for a backpack anymore, but prior, I had a Victorinox VX Sport Cadet backpack which I really love. This is what I carried: Laptop & Charger, Lightning and USB Cables, Laptop HDMI/USB Dongle, USB Battery P...

I'm hoping to see some new collaborations and new models, but I'd be happy with a few more additions to the Salt series too.

Air, Chaparral (Ti scales), D'allara 3, Jester (still kicking myself for missing the 20CV one), Leaf Storm, Native 5 LW (REX45), Nirvana, Perrin, Sage 2, Slysz Bowie

Re: models you'd like to see in the salt series

Chaparral (Even though this goes against the philosophy of the Chaparral, this would be a game changer; just not sure how well LC200N or Magnacut would hold up such thin blade stock)

Dragonfly 2

Manix 2 (G10 version, Magnacut LW already announced I think)

Chaparral in K390 or LC200N with flat titanium scales or "smooth" FRN scales (like the UKPK)

LC200N is what I'd go with. It's a great all-around steel and available on several models: Siren, SpydieChef, Salt 2, UKPK, Native 5, Caribbean, etc.

Re: FRN colors / a proposal

I'd love to see white FRN kits available for popular non-pinned models (Delica, Chaparral, Native, Stretch, DF2, etc.) -- would love to see it in the "grippy" FRN (ex. Delica) and "smooth" FRN (ex. UKPK) patterns. I'd pay a significant premium to upgrade a Chaparral LW to the smo...
