Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

Sweetcorn shucking with the Caribbean. The SE and thumb ramp lend themselves well for cutting off excess stalks and general cob breakdown if need be.

I gave up after about 13 minutes but then suddenly the page reloaded with the order number. I may have been about the last to get one.
Same here. Went from cautiously optimistic and relieved to disappointed to frustrated about 10 times, then all of a sudden, I was just suddenly surprised.

Re: New Spyderco Knives: Blade Show Week 2020 brought to you by KnifeCenter

Sorry about the SE comment on the Shaman. I didn't mean to get anyone's hopes up. I was skipping through certain knives I'm not interested in and must have skipped the part about the SE blade being S30v. I agree with the comment on the Opera, I'm going to be getting one as a gift for someone now tha...

I didn't realize they were going to do the Z-wear Shaman in a serrated package as well.

Re: The Serrata - tell me about it

I keep mine in my kitchen knife block. I love using it while breaking down whole chickens. My dad gives me mini-turkeys (giant broilers) hand raised by various people that he trades goods and services. This works great for it. Growing up, we raised lots of broilers and if I had a knife like this one...

Re: s45vn para 3 alert thread

It’s hard to show as the differences aren’t easy to see, it’s more of a feel thing. The Paramilitary 2 is on the first picture and the Para 3 in the second. If you looking on the bottom edge silhouetted against the white paper it’s probably best seen there. Personally, I love this texture. It’s a ni...

Re: s45vn para 3 alert thread

I received my S45vn para 3 and am extremely happy with it! I had previously gotten the Paramilitary 2 in the same steel and really liked the edge retention and the Para 3 follows course so far. I remember previously seeing posts from people who had gotten two of the Paramilitary 2's that the diamond...

Re: Vacation Knives

Thinking through which of my Spyderco Knives I wanted to take on vacation, and then preparing for each day, knowing what was ahead for the day and finding the best tool each morning was a very fun aspect of my trip to the cabin this year. Have fun!

I also saw on their instagram comments when someone said "I need a para 3 lw in the same color" their response was "soon". That has me super excited!

Re: Anyone else still waiting for the para 3 lw cpmspy27 to ship?

I had preordered mine with KC when it was first announced, along with the sun and moon Chappy. I contacted them today asking them to send the Para 3 as soon as I'm next in line in the queue and not to wait for the Chappy. They already replied they'd do so. Their policy is normally to wait until all ...

Thats quite an Obsidian Order...

Sorry, star trek joke.
Well, the Cardassians were arguably the best villains of TNG era. Even the ominous threat of the Borg didn't have the personality behind it the way they did.

Without a doubt the most badass dye job I've seen. Bravo dude, bravo. Sal/Spyderco if you're watching, I'll buy everything if you figure out how to make this color a production option. Thanks! Quite an honor to hear that from you! Aww shucks 😊 It just so happens that obsidian is my favorite rock/mi...

Man! That set took some time and dedication to all come together. I agree with Mushroom. Great vision and execution. But you’re missing my favorite iteration, the Native5! https://i.imgur.com/LHJbzFA.jpg I do have one more bottle of the dye, I might have to search that one out because that looks gr...

Re: Project Obsidian - M4 DLC / Jade dye project

Thanks everyone! I am new to Spyderco and have always loved customizing any of the things I collect. This was a total leap of faith, doing all of them at once, but I wanted consistency and I got it. The Shaman G-10 was (obviously) the one I had the biggest question on how it would turn out, with the...

Project Obsidian - M4 DLC / Jade dye project

I had set about building a collection of M4 DLC Jade which I intended to transform into what I call Project Obsidian. As a kid, I loved collecting the so called “Apache Tears” rocks, obsidian rocks, that were nearly black unless looked at with a light source behind them, at which time they looked tr...

Ooh that does look good! My jade para 3 scales are in the box. I’d love it if I could get a translucent forest green out of them.
Worth giving it a shot! The jade takes color very well!
