Re: S30V or SPY27
Welcome to the forum! Spy27 is probably easier to sharpen so you might choose that unless price is a big factor. But don't sweat it, you might not even notice a difference and both steels are good to go. Black coated blade is 99% just a matter of personal preference IMO- it can scratch, but then aga...

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?
Interesting topic and responses here. I would probably try out EDC fixed blades. The law of the land criminalizes concealing a fixed blade (some old law about dirks and daggers has been applied to any fixed blade knife), and the culture makes open carrying a fixed blade a bad idea most places. I alw...

Re: Reveal 15: Shivering with Anticipation
blacked out stretch 2 xl salt Good idea! Makes sense, the pacific salt black blade sees to do well. The yellow handle has not grown on me at all. As for Reveal 15 I am not needing or expecting to see any new models for a little while because they're still working on shipping so many previously anno...

Spy27 unless s30v is a lot cheaper.

Re: Stretch XL Salt Observations
Mine arrived today and it's looking high quality. The factory edge is as nice as I've seen with Seki knives. It's surprising at first to pick up such a big knife and feel such light weight even with the thick spine.

Re: I don't give a #@$! about stainless
Magnacut having these great attributes plus corrosion resistance seems like a big win to me. If you don't care, then keep rocking tool steels. It's not like Spyderco isn't going after that market segment as well. I'm happiest with a low maintenance outdoors ready knife so I think I'm gonna like me s...

Re: Knives - FRN with Liners
Both your knives are Seki Japan made backlocks. The Endura/Delica/Endela family or the Rockjumper/Leafjumper family will probably share similar characteristics and have liners. Just my opinion but the Delica is a similar constructed smaller knife that is as tried and tested as it gets.

Re: 2023 - Did your preferences change or stay the same?
My carry preferences stayed the same (mainly seki salts, rockjumper, and Yo2s), but my buying/collecting habits changed a little. I'm done with scale swapping . I tried lots of aftermarket scales and none of them performed as well as Spyderco g10 and frn scales. I care about traction, secure grip, a...

Spyderco Byte December 2023 Feedback
Check your emails- it's byte day! I am just posting to shout out Spyderco for the December byte and the byte series in general. As always, it was a great read. I appreciate Spyderco for going beyond a simple product update or touch marketing campaign like you would get from other brands. The byte is...

Yes to Endela salt! I would also like to have another wharnie in the salt line that is larger than Salt 2, and the Endela size you are describing would be a good platform for that.

Re: Newby Spiderco owner
Welcome DocRobbs! An Endura was my first Spyderco knife and it impressed me so much that I have mostly used Spyderco since then. 12 years later that same Endura is still working great with really minimal maintenance. I have only used the sharpmaker and it does its job well.

Re: So about the Kahr Delica type/shape?
If you don't want to DIY, you can get the JanDelica from 5x5 linked above. I think Michel Janich does the regrind himself and 5x5 are also good people so it's good to buy from them. There are other alternatives though. Knivesplus sells Delica regrinds in similar shape but FFG: https://www.knivesplus...
