It's a lot of knife for how well it carries. Needs some jimping I think. I'll use it for a while and see before I m...

Re: What knife steel and handle are best for cold weather high altitude hiking?

I should add that I live in alberta canada and work outside in -20 to -30c temps throughout the winter. I have never noticed a knife edge degrade on any level. Same when I lived in the Yukon and was often up mountains snowboarding. No change to an edge

Folders are too dangerous for our government to allow in I fixed blade would be fun, and since the forum knife is usually made in the USA that doesn’t leave many choices. How about ...

Re: Rex 45 vs K390?

I don't have any k390 to comment on but I will agree with kerrcobra. Rex45 has am amazing ability to not to chip or roll the edge. It's an outstanding steel and is my favorite too. Good luck choosing

****. I wish our border "services" weren't such asses. I'd order for sure. Can't risk it. I wish a Canadian company would do an exclusive. We miss out on a ton of them up here

Re: What do you view as the main grip on these types of knives?

If a knife has a choil, I use it without even tthinking. the manix xl, as mentioned, has a great grip without using the choil but it's the only one I own that feels natural in both positions
