Re: Cutlery Shoppe Para 3 exclusives

Reluctant to make this post but we share the good and the bad here. Regarding my XHP Para 3... The good: - It’s sharp. - It’s a para 3 so the ergos are great. - The orange is beautiful and bright. - Cutlery Shoppes service is second to none. Came with all sorts goodies in the box. The bad: - The bl...

Re: Cutlery Shoppe Para 3 exclusives

I think I will have to pick up the DLC version... already thinking of possibly swapping over the brown G10 scales from the S35VN para 3...

Re: KnifeCenter Para 3 Cruwear

I am really liking the smooth G10 scales on this Para3. They feel and look a lot higher quality than the standard textured G10. Even from a distance, you can see the difference and it appears more classy/refined. They are definitely less grippy and that will show if you are using this knife in wet/b...

How the heck did this guy in VT get this before me in RI; mine was scheduled to be delivered tomorrow... So I decided to check on the tracking... and mines been...

Re: Efficient Missing Logo and Blade Steel ID

OP, save yourself the trouble and just return it to Amazon... I don't understand why Spyderco would want to see it at all; are they going to post a PSA about fakes based on this example?! Save yourself the shipping cost, a few weeks of time, and just return that sucker to Amazon. Get refunded in 2 d...

I told myself that the smooth scales are “going to be fine” when I got the PM2 with them on. I never carry that PM2. It’s going to be interesting to see what you guys think 3 months from now...maybe on the Para 3 it will be different.

10/30, the big day! Hopefully KC didn’t over sell pre-orders! Come on shipping notice and tracking number.... My first pre-order with KC... and really hoping these aren't delayed from the expected date! Pretty excited to try the smooth G10 scales, and also happy that this version will have the sati...

Re: What a great tool a knife is. “PICS”

I could never relate to that mentality myself. I bought my Spydercos to cut stuff with them. I carry them daily on the chance I'll need to do just that. If I need to cut a hole in a thick plastic sheet, I'll probably pull out one of my knives and reverse grip it straight through. I have an awl on m...

Re: What a great tool a knife is. “PICS”

Curious to hear from those who frequently need to use knives during their day job... You guys don't have a problem using your personal property for work use, especially when it might be considered hard use? I do understand that these are quality knives and are meant to be used, but I think if I was ...

Re: Proposal: A Contoured Scale Series

Totally agree and this is why I upgraded the scales of my PM2s. These customs are thicker than stock and feature a gentle contoured 3D curve. Absolutely elevates the comfort and feel of the PM2 in hand. I've done the same to my Military. https://i.imgur.com/AKEShJt.jpg Those scales are made by Aram...

Re: Red Loctite Legacy...

Thanks Paul I'll give it a shot next time I get a chance, I think I read that red loctite needs 500 degrees fahrenheit to melt the bond. I was thinking about putting it in boiling water but I guess that's not hot enough. You could bake the water in a pot in a oven. It should get to 500F Water boils...

Re: Red Loctite Legacy...

Even with red loctite on the pivot screw, it really shouldn't require that much torque to remove. The amount of additional torque to break the loctite bond is proportionate to the size of the screw in question. Since we are talking about a very small screw here, this isn't something that requires a ...

Re: Wicked Edge WE 50 / Go Sharpening system

How do the KMW/WE sharpening systems work with Spyderco's full-flat ground blades though? Both those systems use a clamp to secure the blade so I imagine it takes some finagling to get it secure? Just have to clamp on to the very back of the blade near the handle where there is still a flat portion?

Some bad news. Something went wrong while attempting to add serrations and Wiley said they’re contacting Spyderco for a blade replacement   :( I’m in a glass cage of emotion. Not looking good... Are blade replacements typically available for sprint/exclusive models like this? That's certa...

Re: Chef is Back, Tell a Friend.

I’m curious where the lockup is engaging on this CQI model if someone cares to post a pic. I can post a pic later tonight when I get home, but the lockup seems to be around 80-90% or so. By that I mean that 80-90% of the lockbar thickness is engaging the tang of the blade. I think this is normal fo...

Re: Chef is Back, Tell a Friend.

I am a lefty, but typically carry my knives on my right side. I like to be able to open/close knives reliably one-handed with both my left and right hand because of this. For the Chef I have found that I can thumb flick with my right hand, with either the pad of the thumb or fingernail, but I cannot...

Re: CPM S30V CQI | Shaman

That looks like a very well-used knife! Looking at your Shaman makes me want one very badly, even though I know it is a bit bigger than I usually prefer to carry. I think I must exercise some patience and wait for a sprint/exclusive to drop though. Also it has me thinking that I wish Spyderco would ...

Re: Chef is Back, Tell a Friend.

Finally got home from work and I had an orange box waiting for me in the mail. Opened it up and beheld the glory, first thing's first it came a little greasy (better to be greased than not greased at all). So I cleaned it, and it became immediately apparent that I had overlooked the finer details o...
