Re: New Chaparral FRN arrives with issues
I love mine, lock bar was uncomfortable at first but was fine after being cycled about 50 times.

Re: Storage
Not a gun owner, so a gun safe isn't realistic, but it sounds like a locked compartment of some sort is definitely the consensus. Thanks much.

Storage
How do folks here store their knives? More specifically, how do you store them if you have small kids, but still want to have them reasonably accessible/convenient? My son is old enough to get into hiding places, but not old enough to understand proper knife handling and safety. Right now I'm thinki...

Re: Chaparral Fake?
The line on the surface area of the tang is from the lock bar rubbing on it and is completely normal (IMO). It's usually from lube or debris and can be wiped off. Whether or not your Chaparral LW is a fake is hard to say. It's hard to tell from the one pic. If it makes you feel any better, I've not...

Re: New 20CV Para 2!!!
Centering good on mine.
I'd imagine that some flippers are doing it help offset the cost of the hobby. Buy two, one to keep, one to mark up and resell to someone who's willing/able to shell out.

Re: Chaparral Fake?
Thanks much, very helpful. I was using up an Amazon gift card, otherwise I would of grabbed one from a normal dealer.

Chaparral Fake?
Picked this up a Chaparral frn from Amazon the other day and noticed a couple things that have me concerned it could be a fake. Box was not wrapped in plastic, just scotch taped at the end. May be using the wrong term here for a folder, but the blade base that bolts into the pivot (tang?) has a bras...

Re: New 20CV Para 2!!!
How would this compare to the commonly available 30 and 110 steels? I was planning on picking up a pm2 soon but don't want to snag away from a collector if it's just a marginal difference. Dude, get the 20cv and enjoy it. This family of steels is among the best performing and most balanced in all a...

Re: Sharpening and Shapton Glass Stones
Thanks for the welcome. It was a long decision making process on what to get. Tough choice between the Chap, Native LW, Delica and Manix LW. I'm sure I'll end up with at least one of those others. Good to know about the s90v on the SG stones since a PM2 in 110 or similar sprint is on my radar for my...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Trimming rug pad (recycled carpet fibers from what I can tell), about 30ft worth of cuts.. Was much harder on the blade than I expected.

Sharpening and Shapton Glass Stones
Just picked up my first Spyderco (Chap frn) in 20 years after someone snapped my old knife in half. I'll likely pick up another knife or two in the near future. I'm fairly far down the rabbit hole chef's knives and as such have some Shapton Glass stones for keeping them in shape (1k and 4k, 500 to c...
