The blade of this elite knife is precision machined from Carpenter® Technology Corporation's premium CTS® XHP blade steel. CTS XHP is an air-hardening, high-carbon, high-chromium alloy that can be described as either a high-hardness 440C stainless steel or a corrosion-resistant D2 tool steel. The PlainEdge™ blade of this knife is full-flat ground for superior edge geometry and features a non-reflective black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating.

True to Cutlery Shoppe's signature style, the handle showcases high-visibility orange scales. Injection molded from tough fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN), they include Bi-Directional Texturing™ for a secure, non-slip grip and are home to the knife's streamlined Compression Lock® mechanism. A reversible deep-pocket wire clip provides a choice of left or right-side, tip-up carry. To complement the blade's DLC coating, the handle's liners, clip, and hardware also sport matching black coatings.
