    Knife "Gimmicks"

I find knife "Gimmicks" pretty funny. Post anything here that is classified as:

    Never-need to sharpen knives
    Awesome titanium coating knives
    Never dull knives
    Etc.

I just got in a debate with a salesman at Walmart a few days ago. He was doing this free knife giveaway and had a crowd of people and he was going on about "surgical stainless steel" that isn't even a blade anymore it's a "scalpel" and never needs sharpened because the steel is so hard. So I asked him what kind of steel the blade was made of and he repeated the line about surgical stainless and explained to him that surgical stainless is a generic label used for several stainless steels that simply have low levels of nickel so they don't cause allergic reactions during surgery. He rebuttled by asking how often a surgical scalpel needs sharpened, and I told him most of them these days are plastic handled and disposable and only used for one operation so they never get used enough to need sharpened. Then I asked him how many scalpels he'd seen that were serrated and if he felt that those serrations were suitable for open heart surgery. By this point he was really red faced and I left him off and just laughed and walked away.

And, more precisely, no pictures of Spyderco products, which is what this sub-forum is suppose to be used for exclusively.

Like Paul points out, this is an Off-Topic thread and is made doubly egregious by the lack of pictures!

It's almost as bad as the people who keep asking questions in the "No words only pictures thread". What part about "no words" do they not understand?
