Nice! Could you post a follow up with some pics in a month or two? I'm interested to see how the dye wears over time.

    Cheers!

You do it with the blade in or take it out? Looks great.

If you're dying H1 I'd leave the blade in, otherwise I'd pull the blade out. Then again I prefer to boil mine when I dye them so the heat makes a difference.

I've done a VG-10 white Ladybug once and left the blade in because it was pinned. I also boiled mine but Sal or someone even said that boiling water doesn't hurt the blades at all.

I think if I were to do another one I would take the blade out just because I'm goofy meticulous.

Thanks. I took the blade out. I wasn't sure if the dye solution would have a negative response with the Super Blue steel.

I think I know what I will be doing to my SB Stretch now. I've been considering it for a while and now that I've seen how nice your Dragonfly turned out the urge is even stronger. Maybe I've wait for your followup pics to see how it wears but it sure looks really nice now and I guess you could always "rinse and repeat" if need be.

BTW - I have a ZDP Nishijin Dragonfly with the same 32V collector number on the blade. I guess that particular collector is not a fan of Dragonfly's? I love the Nishijin version......so sparkly in the afternoon sun!

Funny you should mention the SB Stretch. I just got one yesterday and will more than likely be dyeing it within the next few days. Any color suggestions?

The collector number thing is interesting. How many numbered knives are there? I got my knife from Howe's and I didn't realize at first when I ordered it that it was the numbered version.
