This is my 15dps/30 inclusive, and check out how much wider the bevel is. This was verified by an angle cube.

Oh yeah, it's definitely thinned! It did not come like that from the factory... I re-ground it to about .010" =) Nice edge btw!!!

Oh duh I missed that part in your post. I see it now at the plunge line. Looks a little convex? Don't go splitting any logs with it

No doubt. If I'd known how difficult it would be to find a replacement I might not have been so rough with the one I had. I know one will pop up eventually but this having to be patient is trying my patience! :P

But then I wouldn't be living up to your moto David! "Use it like you hate it"

Yeah, it may be slightly convex but not much... it was freehand against my platen. I didn't want to remove any of the spine side. But yeah, This is going to be edc but no hard use (batonning or cutting wire).

With my Gayle Bradley that was thinned I chopped small limbs off of trees w/ no issues at all though (although I know this is a diff steel).

Yeah I hope mine comes in soon =(

I am a mediocre sharpener so I wonder....Does it need reprofiling ? I am an average user...no manila rope, no crazy stuff.

I did notice some on ebay for about $20 over street price if you're desperate.

LOL, I think the log thing is a step past hate and a step closer to murder

Well yes and no. Even if you left it at the factory angle and used a Sharpmaker to sharpen it at the 40 degree slot, you would eventually need to thin it back out to 30 again. I would definitely recommend the diamond rods if you're concerned, or you could always just send it back to Spyderco and let them sharpen it for you again.

Hey thanks for the offer but its not a big deal. Just more of a curiosity on my part.

I got mine when these first came out so I can only surmise the first ones they put out didn't come with 'em.

Great knife though, For work purposes I still like the Millie better but the S110V Manix makes it into the work rotation every now and then.

I'm really crossing my fingers for a S110V Military..that's gonna be so hot. You may also call up Spyderco, they might mail you a copy if you ask nicely.

Strangest thing, the Manix Fairy left a package on my doorstep today. I am desperate no more.

An S110V Military would be one sick blade. I love all my knives for various reasons; ergos, carry, steel, etc. But when it comes to the physical act of cutting things I've yet to come across a folder that beats the Military in any steel.
