I like the darker spacers myself, Rookie (the bottom two). The darker spacers counterbalance the lighter blue and grey and give the handle some "gravitas".

Don't take this the wrong way... but the color combination on the top two options looks a bit ... feminine?

Bear in mind Rookie is not afraid of pink so these look nothing like his other feminine collection.

What are the rest of the materials? I assume the blue and natural are spalted maple burl or the like?

Personally, I'd do the top one or the next one down from it, only with the blue replaced with black, preferably ebony. I realize we all have different tastes, but wood dyed totally unnatural colors just doesn't appeal to me.

I think #2 has the nicest, classic look to it.

I agree with Ted about the black adding something to the overall design and would liekly pick one of the bottom two for me. However, going back to the photo a few times, the top option is starting to grow on me.

I like the bottom one. Good contrast between all colors and a clean break between them. That said I agree with Paul in that I'd take 1 or 2 over any if the blue were replaced with black ebony. If it were me I'd do that kind of pattern but with ebony and desert iron wood.

I like the top one...but make the band black instead of blue. I think that it will add some nice contrast bewteen the bluw cap and the beige.

In my opinion the black ruins the natural look to it. You're taking something naturally nice looking and adding nothing right in the middle of it. Void, lack of color, lack of a natural material.

    It is done....

Note the blue & green hues after sanding.....reflects different shades light depending.

    Balance is at the choil.

Now to sharpen it - 14 DPS, no micro bevel this time round - need to test the edge performance for chipping first.
