How do you make videos smaller in size?

I have a video I want to put on youtube. It is about 20 minutes long and 2.74gb in size. I want to shrink the size. It is taking forever to upload for one thing plus that is a lot of space required to store videos. I think there are 3rd party programs for the PC but don't know of any. I'k like one for an android tablet.

Anybody know anything about this? Thanks for any help.

My EDC for a while. Stretch with carbon fiber handle, Chaparral 2, Dragonfly 2 with kirinite MOP handle, Manbug with bolster/red bone handle. Super blue/420J1 blades on all three (except Chaparral).
