While we are selling blanks, I would love an enuff blank and would buy both a drop point and a leaf blade version if you sold them.

I could have sworn that they changed the SKU and steel when I posted the question. I think I need more sleep...

From my memory: the woodcraft mule was a dealer exclusive. Some woodworker website. The previous release of bushcraft blades was after the original Bushcraft knife with wood handle turn out bad. The wood supplier was inept and the wood cracked on the knives. the knives were blown out at $89 (as i recall), then a batch of blades at the same price. the next year the G10 bushcraft showed up.

The WoodCraft Mules were a dealer exclusive from WoodCraft. They still stock some knifemaking kits and supplies today. They had the Mules in stock for the longest time - and at the end, they were selling them pretty cheap. I bought the last three from one of our local stores for their cost.

Yes...though I think the profile of the Woodcraft "Mules" (which was how they marketed them, I think?) was somewhat different from the Mule Team series sold exclusively through Spyderco's factory store.

The Woodcraft Mule is interesting, with its higher grind and 50-50 choil...

... but it would be fun to try out the Hudson 0-1 tool steel of the Bushcraft Mule.

Since only 100 were available, I just ordered 1. I thought about getting 2 since the 2nd would be only $108 (would make the shipping free).

Now can I make a handle that is just as comfortable as the standard one on the bushcraft?

At the rate that these are (not) selling, I think no one needs to feel awkward about buying two, if they wish.

    Looks like they're all sold.

Does anyone know the hole diameters so I can order some hardware for handle screws?

Great news! I just found out about it.... I feel lucky to get one (hope it wasn't a mistake that it was in stock). Big thanks to Spyderco!

I agree with the poster who said it would be hard to beat the current production handle but a wooden handle really fits with the spirit of bushcraft and, because wood is lighter than G10, a wooden handle would shift the balance point of the knife more towards the middle (the index finger is ideal for me) as well as lighten the overall weight. The only thing I would have changed about the G10 version is the balance point and weight and Spyderco just gave me the option of doing that.
