Convert Spyderco Folder into Fixed blade?

Has anyone ever taken a Spyderco folder, detached the blade from the mechanisms and handle, and rehandled it, like take an Endura, and turn the Endura blade into a fixed blade knife?

How exactly would you do that? Apart from ending up with a non full tang fixed blade I mean?

Spyderco needs to make a fixed blade stretch. I'd be all over that.

Just weld the blade to the liners and weld the backlock to the blade

I'm sure someone, somewhere in the world, has done it. Either to salvage a broken knife, or just to see if they could.

Converting a folder into a fixed blade is a roundabout means to an end. In my mind it is analogous to purchasing furniture to use as firewood. Sure it'll work, but why throw away all the value built into a folder just to have a suboptimal fixed blade?

Well yeah, there's that. I had a Para 2 that I acid etched too long and created a bunch of blade play, and I toyed with the idea of either using epoxy or trying to braze the pivot, but ended up selling it to someone who wasn't bothered by the pivot play. I'd say it would still work fine, but I wouldn't trust the pivot to never close, I would still treat it like a strong fixed blade.
