    Maker transition complete

Well, we have finally competed shifting tooling and making knives with the new maker. I'm pleased to say that all of the models are coming through even better than from the former maker.

This is a new experience for us, but all is well. We should be able to maintain inventory and make improvements (CQI) as we learn.

All of the byrd modeols are made in China. One of the makers that we began with many years ago, was going out of business and he was a main maker for us. We had to find another maker, check out their quality, move tooling, etc. The whole transition took more than a year.

I'm glad you were able to find a new maker who could meet your standards, and congratulations on completing the move. Just what you needed on top of the Golden expansion, huh?
I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.

I've been beating on a new meadowlark all week as we do the renovations on our new house. I really like 8Cr as a working steel and the mlark is a very nice example of a well made budget knife. I am particularly interested to see the new crow/raven models...
So many knives, so few pockets...

Does this also mean a new maker for the Tenacious family?

I know you are careful about working with talented makers capable of quality work, but I'm happy to hear you folks are impressed with the quality and want to wish you luck for a long, stable and profitable relationship.

    Hi Jack,

Thanx for noticin' and I'm supposed to be retired. Life seems to be busy for this old man. However, Eric and the staff are doing an excellent job.

    Hi Araneae,

Thanx. The Raven and the crow will be made by the same maker that made the first version. However, we'll be making quite a few more changes on this pair. The Raven wil come out first.
