Made my own big LITTLE knife.

The recent comming out of the Techno, tempted greatly, but I just couldn't come around to 2 C's for a 2 1/2" blade with 3/16" thickness(it's a beautiful knife though).

I don't make many knives, it's a slow process and it' also quite hot in my shop. Here we have a 2 5/8" x 1/8" blade, hand rubbed and tumbled. OD green course texture(Alpha Supply) scales milled to .100".
Single .050" titanium liner.

This thing works pretty well, cuts decently, feels pretty good in hand. I hope this fills my NEED for a big little knife.

Don't be concerned about the amount of steel left over the slot, there will be no prying or batoning with this knife. Don't forget it's 1/8" thick and you are looking at it in two dimension, it doesn't look so severe in hand.

Nice looking knife! I've made a couple of fixed blades myself, and I'm just now getting interested in folders. How did you make the compression lock? What metal? Is the lock heat treated?

.050" titanium. Titanium is a wonderful metal, I love it, you get great results. It's costly, not easy to work with, it hates drill bits, saws and taps, but it's light and quite strong. No HT for titanium, it seems to "work harden" at the contact area after the break in period. The lock lug doesn't wear any farther.
Clip is titanium, you can cold bend it, and it stays springy, great stuff.

Thanks. I've read about how bad titanium is to work with, but it seems like the best material for this sort of thing as I don't have the equipment to heat treat myself.
