Don't forget jungle gyms. The little kids playground is still there at my old elementary school. But they tore down the jungle gym more years ago than I can count. Every day as a kid, I'd only climb one bar off the large, thick rubber mat. (Had a horrible fear of heights.) But every single day a classmate would climb to the very top. They'd even race each other up there. And *gasp* They had fun.

I bought these just because I felt I was being challenged by ebay to do so. I do not like being told I cannot do something, and every time I tried to bid or buy a set on ebay, shortly after, they would get pulled, and my purchase deleted. So with this product that I had no use for, and did not really want, I now wanted very badly just to triumph over ebay. Being made illegal was probably the best sales move bucky balls could have had happen, now everyone wants them, is talking about them, and has bought a set just because they might not be able to at a later date. Its brilliant. The owner must be laughing his way to the bank. They should be here soon.. looks fun!

And if I was one of the people who swallowed one, I would think I would be OK, as long as I didnt swallow another a little while later (I feel if you swallowed 2 you would be in real danger, since I can see them getting stuck and perforating some organ membranes or something.) I would just stay away from anything metalic, and install a magnet in my toilet bowl so Id know when it passed, lol.

Wow, so ebay is cancelling sales of these even *before* they are made illegal? I thought the *threat* of them being pulled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission was still in court?

I ordered several sets of them, they are quite a bit smaller than I had imagined, but it was my fault for not looking at the specs more closely. I did get a couple of sets of their large ones also. They messed up part of the order and sent me some cubes where I had ordered the balls, but I didn't feel like going through the hassle of returning/exchanging them, and the cubes will be fun to play with too.

I guess I think even less of ebay now than before .

Why is ebay banning just "buckyballs"?
They still sell Nanodots & other brands?

I bought two sets from eBay because of this thread and both auctions were deleted the day after. Really strange, it was like the entire transaction never happened with this vague explanation of ish happens. Today one of the sets arrived, the other set is still in transit I assume. You can still get them from the Bucky Balls sight where I got the majority of my sets that I'm currently stocking up. I think I only need the Pink and Purple now. All the money I spent on these things was well worth it to stick it to the man.

Good memory, Mono! I remember our playground had a big steel jungle gym with just rocks and dirt underneath it. The cement pilings for the legs were exposed on one side too. If that thing were still there today, the school district would be sued out of existence.

But back in fourth or fifth grade, I was fooling around on them, just showing off - and took a good spill to the ground. Ended up with a broken arm and a gash on my knee. Didn't hurt too much, but it bled enough to make me look really tough. When my Mom got to school to take me to the Doctor, she apologized to the Principal - then yelled at me for being so "reckless". (hee, hee!)

That scene would never happen in today's litigious world, eh?
