    Formal Apology...

    Dear Sage 3,

I like your family and really appreciate your siblings as my first Spyderco friends but really thought of you as the odd ball. I wasn't a fan of your Blue G10, didn't like feel and sound of your lock, and honestly you just didn't stand out like the others.

However, after carrying you for a week I have to say... you're a great little knife. After getting used to your bolt action and giving you more palm time than pocket I've learned to love you. Even your blue is much less drab in my eyes.

Though I never dissed you, I never said anything nice either. My promise is to change and I will sport you with a smile like I do the others.

    Sincerely,

    FroOchie
...I have no knives I keep in a safe but there are one or two that don't leave the house...

I really need to apologize to my Sage 1. It's always been my least favorite Sage for some reason. Just never really warmed up to it like the others. But, I do need to make a point of appreciating it for the great little knife that it is!

The sage series has to be one of my favorites and I like that each knife purchase supports the National Alzheimer's Association.

I'm also guilty of not carrying my Sage 3, so I switched one Smurf for another and am going to EDC the 3 for awhile, its been at least 6 months since ive carried her. Thanks Fro!

I'm guilty also. I honestly don't know if I've ever carried my Sage 1 or Sage 2 or Sage 4. I like the series and they make nice knives, but I don't think they work for me. The thing I like about them is how much other people love them.

I'm not a big fan of liner locks or frame locks, but I do carry them when they are the best option.

The Sage 4 is awesome, I love how it operates, but it seems overly heavy. I did carry the Sage 4 for half a day and couldn't hack it.

I don't hesitate to recommend the Sage series if it meets someone's requirements.

I love the 3 and 4 much more than the 1 and 2 (I actually sold my 2). They are all great though.

The 3 is actually my favorite of the series (so far!), followed closely by the Ti-2. Mine has one of the smoothest, silkiest actions of any Spyderco I've ever owned. My only gripe (and it is minor) is that the closed-back design makes it a bit harder to clean than the RIL and CF versions.

Now - we all need to help Sal get product placement deals in the next Smurf movie for the Sage 3, Para 390, and blue Manix. Can you imagine the plot lines this could open up for the Smurf franchise?

    This is a nice thread.
I should do the same to my #3, don't carry it much. The #1 & #2 are in my Rotation.
    Waiting for....Calypso Jr.,
