    Vallotton Sub-Hilt photo shoot

Firstly, man this knife is not photogenic. Or at least nothing i did worked out very well. The whole thing is shiny and all my pics but a few came out grainy and crappy looking. Here's the few that managed to look half decent.

And a little red spider crawled by and i snapped a quick pic of his reflection..

Then as i'm standing down in this drainage ditch by a 100 year old bridge trying to get shots, i hear a rustle up in front of me and spot this big guy about 10 feet away from me. He sat and watched me for a couple minutes until i tried to get a closer pic and he ran under a big rock.

He was a big boy...i'm not really good at estimating weight but he was a bit bigger than a cat i had that was 20lbs so i'd say he was pushing 30 or so.

Sooooweet pics, Evil (especially the first one where the black handle appears to have a greenish tint). The Sub-hilt is one sweet blade.

Man you'd love most of the pics then, because the knife is so shiny it was reflecting the forest around me in every pic. The lighting was just way off that day for my modest little point-n-shoot. I'd buy a nice DSLR camera but i spend all my money on knives

Man, that looks like a thick hunk o' metal. Wouldn't worry about the tip breaking off of that thing! Great pictures. The ones with the blade reflecting the woods sound really good, too.

They really did an amazing job with the grind on this knife. I'm continually amazed at how decent it slices behind that big fat tip. It doesn't do very well with "tip slicing" but once you go deep enough to get back to the main hollow grind section it doesn't do too bad considering the spine is 4mm thick. Of course, it's nothing like a Caly 3/3.5 but you have to expect that with a knife designed like this one, for purposes like this one is designed for.

I saw the same knife, talked to eric about it for a while. It had an emerson opener that me and eric both thought was cutting it a bit close to the spydie hole, so who knows if it will be in the final design. I actually prefer this, the "old" version. It has been on my "must buy" list for quite some time. I can never find a deal on one though...
