My PM2 was stiff right when I got it, so I decided not to touch it or loosen any screws. I played with it and flicked it and used it for the first week and it loosened right up to where I want it to be. Couldn't be happier!

On my own experience with W&R:

    1. They were rushed (must be over worked) but took the time to hear me out. Explained too that they had a three week backlog to clear at the time I called when I asked for an approximate return date of my knife.

    2. They were hard to reach. I understand that they are there to fix knives and not to take calls. I am thankful that their telephone operator was so helpful in coordinating on the customers behalf.

    3. It was good to know what the issue was with my knife and even better that an acceptable solution was provided. It did not hurt that much to know the same knife would not be returned back to me, that is thanks to the info on this forum. Had I not read the info here, I am sure that I would have been hopping mad with Spyderco.

    4. W&R staff have a very difficult job to do. Sometimes, they are called to advise on the state of a knife related issue without seeing and assessing it themselves. We as customers must understand that they need to do this to help us. So, the shipping fee is just there in case there's nothing wrong for it to be sent back to you. I am sure that if there is something wrong, they will bear the shipping cost.

I only have a few Spydies. Only one of those had an issue that I was not willing to bear with. It took about three months to resolve the issue what with global shipping being what it is and other factors. Overall though, my experience was good with W&R. Hope it works out for you.
